Ex-player: Divock ORIGI

Divock has been a squad player but in that role he’s been immense for us.

Calling him a legend I can live with that. Cult Hero probably describes it even better.

With that all said - Phil, Emre, Gini - that’s how he is going to end up.

And once again it’s going to be proven that it doesn’t matter if your name is Mo, Sadio, Virgil or Fabinho - if you leave Klopps Liverpool you’ll never hit the heights you’ve been used to here.

I do hope the idea is for him to be a regular starter there, would be fun to see what he can do for a good team with regular game time.

Yes, he’s had many amazing moments with Liverpool and given the fans fantastic memories. But I think his situation is different from the likes of Coutinho, Gini and Can because they played more regularly than Origi. Gini was ever present and never got injured. All three moved on because they thought they were going to bigger clubs for higher salaries. Divock has spent the majority of his time here, sitting on the bench or injured. I think he just wants to play more games now, as he won’t be going to Italy for the money and Milan are not likely to win the Champions League at the moment. I wish him all the best and thanks for the memories.

I wonder how is it that some club from Germany or France weren’t interested in him. Maybe it’s because of his wage demands or because they didn’t think he’d have any resale value because he’s slowly approaching his thirties? I imagine him easily scoring twenty goals per season in a league that’s as defensively open as these two.

Yeah, I think in a top 4 Bundesliga team he might score a good amount of goals, for someone like Dortmund or Leipzig. Would have been fun to see him in one of those teams.

It’s a weird one, as when he was on loan in the Bundesliga he did not do very well.

This could go either way. He might be a fixture for Milan and score loads of goals and lead the line well.

Equally, I would not be surprised if he only showed flashes of what he can do and played in fits and starts.

Such is the enigma that is Divock Origi.

Still, nothing can take away the amazing moments he has provided for us at Liverpool - and it’s not finished yet - and I wish him all the best.

Love Origi standing up to the director at the end even though it was a prank. First time I’ve ever seen some emotion out of him :rofl: will be missed

Maybe the lifestyle in Italy is what appeals to him…
Whatever his reasons, he will be missed at this end for sure

Milan is the fashion capital isn’t it?

25 goals in the first season while he gets settled… Thereafter, to score more than Lewandowski :0)

Legend no, bit of a cult hero yeah.

Origi should boss the Serie A. Even the likes of Tammy Abraham do well there

I will be interested to see how much of his original promise he realizes if giving consistent starts with Milan.

Certainly could turn into an absolute beast, or like much of his time here and on loans before just not impact games for long stretches.

I’d like to believe it will be the former.

As much as I like him, today is just the most Origi moment possible. His exit is announced, he’s ready for his grand farewell, and picks up a niggle that prevents him playing.

Thaks for the memories, Divok :mending_heart:

He is out of the final, he’s played his last game for us

Where did you see that? We’re losing players all over for the final… Not cool.

Thanks for the memories, Big Div. All the best.
