In a recent interview, Lewandowski stated that when he arrived at dortmund he was trying to hard to do everything quickly. Until Jurgen taught him to slow down, once he had learned to slow down and taken an extra touch if needed rather than rushing, then Jurgen pushed him to speed back up again. His words were “he slowed me down to speed me back up again, it was genius.”
Now i’m not saying Taki is on the level of Lewandowski, not even close but it seems the same principles need applying here. Taki is trying so hard that he’s doing everything at a million miles an hour, sometimes just needs to slow it down and evaluate everything around him rather than just rushing aimlessly. He’s with exactly the right coach to bring the best out of him eventually.

Well, that’s great but I think the starting point for Taki is learning how to trap a ball.

Most of the time he receives the ball he is already on the half turn trying to push forward quickly. While the idea is right, his timing has been off. He just seems too eager to me atm, reminds me of a waiter in a restaurant that tries too hard to please and entertain his guests, trying to do tricks with glasses and ends up spilling them, when really all the guests want is to eat and be left alone.

Good move for him if it comes off. One thing he has shown in his performances for us is a lot of energy, and Hassenhuttl certainly likes that.

Fingers crossed, I’d like to see him get a decent run with Saints, and come back the stronger for it next season. I still think he has a place in the squad.
