Fabinho (DM) to Al-Ittihad

The good old days of soul music! :+1:

Interestingā€¦I thought he played really well against us in the 0-0 at Selhurst Park. Palace fans certainly seem to rate him.

Fbref stats suggest heā€™s a bit of a clogger. Good off the ball but mediocre with it.

I canā€™t say Iā€™ve ever paid a momentā€™s notice to him.

The downside of getting a clogger on the pitch for 90mins, is that the boys have to train with him for the other 5days at Kirkby - He will be issuing out injuries left, right, and centre :0)
Lets steer clear please, so says the LFC physioā€™s

A clogger at Palace, but look at his season at Lens beforehand.

Not setting the world alight or anything but looks like Vieira wanted him solely as a bit of a destroyer.

yep, thats why they are quoting 100 million pounds for him the fucksā€¦ he is a decent player to be fair

this seems to have gone quiet.

Al Ittihad have signed Benzema, Kante and Jota. So guess this deal will go through. Not sure on Hendoā€™s deal though.

Its been about 2 days hasnā€™t it?

My take: the deal is ā€œdoneā€ but weā€™ve asked for time to line up our replacement without Ā£40m burning a hole in our pockets.

Also weā€™ve asked for time to make the cringe good bye videos

Iā€™m betting itā€™s to give the poor overworked video editing and social media teams time to prep the announcement assets. Seems to be the final step of any transfer these days and clubs want that lined up ready to go before anything is confirmed.

Itā€™s the modern day equivalent of getting the player to the ground for the obligatory photo op with shirt/scarf.

Strange thisā€¦ I was expecting a lot of noise during this week, as Fabinho hasnā€™t been involved in the training camp, but there is nothing at all so far.

I actually wonder why he wasnā€™t involved to be honest. Itā€™s a crucial time of pre-match preparation for any player, whether a transfer materialises or not.

But knowing Klopp, not taking part in the pre-season training camp means not being involved at all, at least for the first part of the season. So for Fabinho and everyone linked to the club, this move better materialises, or weā€™ll have a very unhappy bunny in the squad.

Saudi clubs are signing handful of players meanwhile. Looks like Telles from ManU to Saudi club is almost done according to Fabrizio. Not sure whatā€™s causing the delay. I will be happy if he and Hendo stays and we sign a CB. I m not very excited with CDM 's Linked to us and some are exorbitant.

Chill out, heā€™s leaving.

Since you mention Telles, I remember back when I was on Twitter a Porto fan telling me that Telles was 10x the player Robertson was. That worked out well.

Whoever we sign is going to miss out on pre season team training/bonding. Get a move on FSG moneymen! I could crush a grape :unamused:

That expression, as used by Stu Francis on Crackerjack, denoted overwhelming excitement. Is the current transfer inactivity that stimulating?

Irony is very difficult to express in itā€™s written form.

What like a green light when youā€™re already late, Sheryl?

I doubt anyone, money men, coaching staff or players want us to go out and replace him before any transfer is fully confirmed. I doubt itā€™s even about getting the money in but instead the concern we go buy his replacement and then the Saudis try and pull some shit to get the fee down or his wages down and he backs out. Add in the uncertainty with Henderson too and weā€™re right to keep our cards close to our chests until the time is right, even if that means missing some of pre-season.

But thereā€™s also a very good chance weā€™ve been working behind the scenes so when it is all signed and sealed the replacement coming in is announced very quickly after.
