Fabinho (DM) to Al-Ittihad

Medical today.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

I know we all do banter and so on, but this sentiment doesn’t sit right with me.

Fabinho has been a very good player for us, and not an ounce of trouble. Ok, last season was poor in the context of the whole team struggling, but it’s still a fair question to ask if his legs are going, or is it just a loss of form.

Either way, he deserves our respect and best wishes.

If he leaves, good luck to him, and we will reinvest the dough and probably kick on.

No need for shite like this. Fabinho helped us win everything and it looks like we’re going to recoup the lion’s share of his original transfer fee. He had a massive drop off in form last season so this seems like good business for both parties.

Fabinho has a full agreement with Al Ittihad, the Saudi club are now awaiting the release of the funds from the Saudi government to Liverpool to finalise the deal. -

Cheers for the last few years, team has evolved and we will now be better without him as he reached the limits of his physical capabilities. Good money for a player of his age/talent. Wish we weren’t dealing with Saudi Arabia to get rid of him - it’s very unsettling to me.

Don’t respect him or his choices as a person. Bolsonaro support was sickening and now he heads off to Saudi Arabia where he’s probably hoping to catch a quick execution ahead of kickoff. Same with Gerrard, Firmino, probably Henderson and anyone else who can turn a blind eye to atrocity just for a bit of extra cash in their already exorbitant paycheck. Fuck them.

Even his transfer has been slow.

He couldn’t find the contract as the courier bringing it to him was stood slightly behind him - and was therefore invisible.

Certainly not quick enough to get out of the way!

Tremendous player in the title winning season.
Ok, his form dipped a lot, but he was an integral part of recent successes.

Dodgy sources reporting on Fab last couple of days. Think we will know tomorrow as to whether the deal is on or not.

Whilst I can relate to your first paragraph, I personally feel your second paragraph is a bit unfair on Fabinho.
My understanding is that it was his wife who publicly showed support for Bolsonaro, not Fab’s himself. Additionally, Alisson and Firmino both showed their support…
From my (admittedly little) knowledge of Brazil, it is a very religious country. I believe, Bolsonaro played on that by marrying a woman who was highly respected in a religious view and additionally promoted her faith.

Iv got to admit and I assume you did not intend it, but your “now he heads off to Saudi Arabia where he’s probably hoping to catch a quick execution” comment was a great pun - albeit a bit tasteless on my behalf.

I am going off on a tangent here and my comment is not aimed at you or anyone else.
I, like you, find it unsettling that Countries/States can set up their own unregulated leagues/buying clubs in the major leagues without any constraints. However, although I may not agree with it, I find it hard to blame any individual in any profession that took a big pay cheque, which to them, would provide financial stability for them and their family for the rest of their life.

The issue here is bigger than any individual. When you have FIFA, UEFA and individual governing bodies such as the EPL/FA entertaining them then nothing is gonna change!
Qatar hosting the WC and the reluctance of FIFA to support rainbow gestures. Teams being owned by states, Leagues/trophies/stadiums being sponsored by entities of these states, all can be seen as immoral. Yet the majority of us, including myself continue to accept this. If I can celebrate when Liverpool win the Emirates sponsored FA Cup, then surely I am as guilty as anyone of endorsing state sponsorship.

The greed of man.
Money, however much, is never enough.

They are evangelicals, they care more about promoting Christ as Lord and Saviour than poverty and massive inequalities. That’s not what Christinity should be about, at least for me. They weren’t duped by Bolsonaro, they were all too happy to embrace the part of his agenda that suited them and discard the rest.

It perfectly explains why Firmino who considers himself a devout Christian is all too willing to take the money from the Saudi regime and it demonstrates for the umpteenth time why we as fans shouldn’t get emotionally attached to players no matter how good they are. Klopp being the exception of course.

I am ashamed and disgusted that we are accepting money from a loathsome regime that carries out mass executions and chopped up a journalist who opposed them. As a club and a fan base can we still bleat on about Newcastle taking their money. It will be hypocrisy of the highest order. We will have lost the moral highground if we were ever on it.

Here is some reading matter for Fabinho.

Before training he can attend a public beheading as they are conveniently timed at 9.00 AM.

Execution is usually carried out by beheading with a sword or hanging but may occasionally be performed by shooting or firing squad. Saudi Arabia performs public executions. Sentences are primarily given on confession. Human Rights Watch says the majority of people are tortured to obtain confession and courts have not investigated it.

A public beheading will typically take place around 9 a.m. The convicted person is walked to a courtyard near the courthouse and kneels in front of the executioner. A police official announces the crimes committed by the person and the beheading takes place. The executioner uses a sword known as a sulthan to remove the condemned person’s head from his or her body at the neck. After a medical examiner inspects the body and then pronounces the convict dead, a police official announces the crimes committed by the beheaded convict once again and the process is complete. Professional executioners have beheaded as many as 10 people in a single day.

Just one recent example of their idea of justice from Amnesty International.

Al-Shakhouri told the court he suffered bruising and severe pain in his back, ribs and mouth after being tortured. He lost most of his teeth after security officers repeatedly punched him in the face, yet he was denied medical care. Al-Shakouri withdrew his “confession” as it was extracted through torture.

I can do whatever I want, don’t need your approval or permission.

Whats the point of this post?

You can indeed do whatever you like and certainly don’t need my permission…unlike the citizens of Saudi and particularly the women and gays. Enjoy your freedoms. They are hard earned.
