Fabinho (DM) to Al-Ittihad

If we receive such a offer for Fabinho snap their hands off.

Caicedo is the only proper replacement imo.

Seriously give your head a wobbleā€¦sell sell sellā€¦and then when this club and the league we compete in is no longer relevant then donā€™t complain when we sign players from amateur leagues for Ā£2.50 and a pork pie because fickle fans like yourself were all on board of sportswashing and watching our club being encouraged to sell our players to fund moves that you did on FM.

Truth is it may be the best thing for our club and league to fade into irrelevance because Iā€™ll be honest I can see fans of a certain pov (Finally getting the ball rolling. Sell sell sell sell!!!)
Actually jumping ship to support this artificial league where their wankfests of signing top talent weekly for more zeroā€™s than I care for will actually do us and the league goodā€¦eg getting back to grassroots and bringing football back to the normal people who remember and enjoy football , especially from a pov of " the Liverpool way"ā€¦

Donā€™t need a rebuttal or an excuse for your shocking attitude to football and the way itā€™s heading , but I will be honest , there is nothing in your enthusiasm for any of this that is in line with the clubs traditional beliefs of the Liverpool way, all I can say is shanks and paisley would be turning in their graves of what our players have become and worse still what our fans seem to be becoming.

You talk about what our players and fans have become by allegedly ā€œsupporting sportswashingā€, no one supports sportswashingā€¦but it is what itā€™s seen to be, a financial opportunity (if it comes your way). What about the club that directly negotiates with these people and wilfully accepts their money because letā€™s be honest they can easily shut the door on them if they wanted (and by wanted I mean putting their moral compass over their financial needs - afterall the club is very wealthy and doesnā€™t need the money right)ā€¦how would you feel about the club doing that? You would put an end to your support and stop following all things Liverpool then yes?

Ultimately I just wanna see the team compete to win as so long as we comply with the regulations of the governing bodies then I donā€™t care what form that comes inā€¦this artificial league you speak of has long transformed yet here everybody is still on board, watching the league & supporting their teams despite our negotiations & dealings with the Saudiā€™s. Their influence has infiltrated the league, this happens with or without us, whether we approve or not. We have to move with the times sadly (youā€™re only other option is to cut ties with the club and find a new hobby), but like me we can all do this whilst also being against and speaking out against the humanitarian atrocities and abuse people there are subjected to.

& Yes youā€™re right, Shanks and Paisley would be turning in their graves if they were around today and could see what was going on around themā€¦but instead we have Klopp so we donā€™t need to apply this about him do we as heā€™s with us now, no reason to believe why he wouldnā€™t share the same sentiment thus we can rely on him to condemn all this sportswashing and speak out on their behalf?

Aye weā€™re finally getting the money in for our past their sell by date players & weā€™re gonna use that to reinvest in the squad to help us compete for titles again, isnā€™t that what we all want!!!

This may be a harsh observation, but the thing with Fab is Iā€™ve never seen him turn a game around. He came into a good side and made it better, but in the periods where we were not going well and needed a senior player to step up, it was never him who did it.

In a situation where weā€™re concerned with losing leadership and experience, and turning things over too quickly, I donā€™t think he really factors into that part of the conversation. Hendo, definitely. Thiago, probably. Fabs, nah. There are issues to consider on if it leaves a hole in terms of players who can play that role, especially if the Hendo situation is developing in parallel (drop Jones or Mac in to play it but in a completely different way? Hope Thiago can get fitā€¦and again play it differently? Buy a new player and hope they get up to speed quickly?), but that is one Jorg and co will already be completely prepared for.

Selling Fabinho for buying Lavia is a no brainer. The club getting in for Fabinho is wellā€¦ Not ideal as an understatement

The fact that Al Ittihad are set to make an offer for Fabinho indicates the player is willing to make the move.

so Fab is def going thenā€¦

Think you need to visit YouTube and watch the one of Klopp talking about his personal beliefs etc and then maybe just maybe (although since itā€™s you Iā€™m talking to very doubtful) you would understand how alignment with being Liverpool manager and how in many cases there is a similarity with Shanksā€¦sadly as you say time has moved on and although in this day and age Klopp is one of the very few to speak out about certain things ( man city) he was is lucky to have an owner who has asked the same questions about the same subjects.

Difference is shanks would have gone to Saudi Arabia and smashed Gerrardā€™s head through a wallā€¦and Henderson under Shanks would not have been considering such a move, I donā€™t expect you to understand any of this simply because of you have no understanding it seems, but letā€™s end this on another hypothetical questionā€¦

If FSG/ john Henry put out a statement saying no way , no how are we doing any business with Saudi Arabia for our players would you not be posting anti fsg stuff and demanding they leave because they are stingy etc as is the usual mantra ?

Fab def hit a wall last season. It would be a gamble if JK retained him. Rather he went than Hendo, and that reported Ā£40m fee isnā€™t to be sniffed at eitherā€¦

Must be some absolutely unhinged blokes in charge of the transfer dealings/scouting at these Saudi clubs. Crazy that they have this much money to throw around and the best options they can find in midfield are Henderson and Fabinho.

Iā€™m not sure which is the most laughable deal. Ā£40m on Fabinho or giving Henderson Ā£700k a week.

Itā€™s about BiG NaMeZ to attract the masses. OMG!!!

I think an argument could be made for Fabinho being so bad because Hendersonā€™s legs fell off & he not only stopped winning duels but ceased to be interested in engaging in them altogether. Fab didnā€™t cover himself in glory but he was at least above average at things the team may need him to do. In 22/23 the skipper was below average in basically every measurable defensive action and really is clearly not suited to any of the advanced midfield roles. So it is probably more accurate to say that keeping him is more of a gamble given how much of an improvement to his performance would be required.

Cog, please change your password , it appears almighty has hacked your account :joy:

Without being revisionist in either direction, I think that Fabinho has been a very successful transfer for us but ultimately no more than a cog in a supreme, well oiled machine. He had his role and he performed admirably in it. However, last season exposed his individual limitations and it was obvious that there was no turning back. It looks even worse when you compare him to players our rivals have/will have in the same role.

He never was a leader in the classic sense, he never was someone who could take the game to opponent. Our midfield players maybe werenā€™t geared for that any of that on their own but with Wijnaldum and Henderson you got bundles of energy that would wear opponents down. With Alcantara, you got the best of both worlds but injuries have also reduced him to the status of expendable player (and he is a leader, in my opinion, Iā€™ve already said how much I admired his overall conduct).

Fabinhoā€™s game was about calmness and being in the right place at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. Sadly, heā€™s not been like that for quite a while and he looks like heā€™s running through quicksand. If we can get anything to 40 million pounds for him, I say we take it.

Of the 3 senior mids still under contract all of whom some sections of the fans had lost patience with he was the one who to me made most sense to move on. One likely needs to be moved to make room for a third new mid, and so if someone is offering 4 million let along 40 we should say thank him for his contribution and move on.
