Fabinho (DM) to Al-Ittihad

Root of the issue is paying money for oil. Finding an alternative is a very difficult problem, but, unfortunately, the only solution. Supporting that solution is the only answer (to this particular issue and many other difficult issues).

I donā€™t think there are any grounds to stop a migration of football talent to Saudi, if thatā€™s where the most money is.

I was just wondering out loud, tis all.

Basically, the money will speed it up. That seems certain.
If it is to be slowed, it would need some sort of regulation, or the teams coming together in a particular league under a voluntary arrangement, but I donā€™t really see it.

Freedom of movement, freedom of labour, will trump anything that tries to stop it.

Also, historically, people have always tended to follow the money, in sport and other industries. When it was all fairly even, people tended to stay put, and only a few adventurous types would move to other countries to play football.

Then when Italy had more money, they seemed to attract the best players in the world.

Then for a while Spain did, or certainly the big two in Spain.

And then more latterly the Premier League has generally been top dog, with only a few giant clubs in other leagues able to compete or fight off the Prem.

Now it looks like the Saudis are shaping up to try to dominate the game by throwing money at it.

Im holding onto the fact that all of the players going over to S.A are nearing the end of their career and looking for a final payday, yes you will get the odd ruben neves, but the pull of the european leagues and competitiveness of the champions league will keep the young hungry players heading for Europe, but dare i say if a super league is proposed in the future with S.A backing like the liv of golf then its going to get very messy, and it all falls on euafa, fifa, premier league door as they was happy to let their money benefit their organisations without realising that they could potentially have greater ambitions of their own.

Yupā€¦and unfortunately that is the next logical step.

Should the premier league look to strip Newcastle of their owners as a statement  they are owned by PIF which practically owns the majority of their league

In all honesty after last seasons performance from both of them we would embrace a bid of substantial money for both of them as i think we all felt our midfield was knackered and run out of legs, i feel a little uneasy that we may get rid of all of the old guard, but we have klopp so that is all that matters

damn fake accts, damn them to hell!!

I loved that we are braced, I assume itā€™s also a transfer blow.

Apparently CMā€™s we were vaguely linked with are still not joining other teams and this is a blow.

actually he did say it @semmyā€¦ damn u semmy, damn u

I assume considering Klopp had a massive conversation with Henderson today that he is already working on some options for a replacement.

Doubt heā€™s bracing himself for anything.

He can get one of those chairs I see during episodes of Tipping Point and the Chase.

Where do you buy those? Uhā€¦ asking for a friend :eyes:

Have to say Iā€™ve seen them a million times and I havenā€™t actually a clue.

Same goes for the life insurance plans.

Because by the numbers large parts of Virgilā€™s game is still elite. The same couldnā€™t be said for the Skipper. Interestingly VVDā€™s defensive actions in 22/23 were on par (in terms of volume) with those in the 19/20 season.
