Fabinho (DM) to Al-Ittihad

Well let’s be honest she is a Bolosarno Fangirl.

Who in our midfield leads the way in defensive actions … Thiago, when on the pitch.

Hendo has never been a tackler, similar to Gini, forces the opposition to get their head down and into areas where they are trapped and lose the ball or to play a poor pass.

Fab got roasted too many times, players ghosted past him too easily and he offers less than Hendo in leading our team on and off the pitch

The fact that Fab’s performances improve once Bajcetic & then Jones are introduced suggest that at least part of the issue might be with his previous partners in midfield. The leadership stuff is a nonsense he is rightly praised for doing a lot of the good stuff expected from senior members of the squad but they aren’t qualities unique to him. I’d be happy with both Fabinho & Henderson leaving but at this point only one of them is above average when taking into consideration the job they would be expected to do and it isn’t Jordan.

So he looks better when he has players to cover his deficiencies. Wow :rofl:

For one thing Bacjetic actually took Fab’s position as the 6 until he got injured and Fab for me had one reasonable game during the run in.

In that run in it was the change with Trent playing the hybrid FB/CM role that resulted in us being unbeaten along with Curtis finishing the season strongly.

Fab did very little, just look at his defensive numbers poor

You are surely not dumb enough to think that in a system where the fullbacks push on the #6 is the only midfielder with defensive responsibility?

A blind man could see he’s not able to run, not able to get near a opposition player to tackle them and so easily ran past he is our weakest link, good bye.

Fabinho averaged 1.8 tackles per game, Thiago 2.4, Fab also averaged 1.5 fouls per game, almost as many as his tackles and dribbled past 1.1 times per game whereas Thiago is .5 per game.

With those stats who sounds like a DM?

You’re weird

Did Bajcetic take Fabs place? The kid played 2 games in the PL as a DM - the team won neither & conceded 3 - he then plays 6 PL games as an #8 & the team win 5 & concede 2. This is before the change in formation and taking into account previous form, the midfield is demonstrably better during this period just owing to the fact that there is a at least one person either side of the DM who share some of the defensive workload.

Yeah great. If I could guarantee 30 games out of him I’d keep Thiago.

Huh?

From my recollection Bacjetic, I thought he only played once as the 8, against Everton, where he was excellent.

Also form watching al the games and most others also thought that he was an improvement on Fab.

But you are rating Fab as a DM and yet Thiago’s figures are far better and he doesn’t play DM, which by reflection makes Fab a poor DM especially on last seasons performance.

He is too slow for how we are progressing as a team to play DM but as I have said if he stays I hope he proves me wrong

I’m not rating Fab as the best DM we can get, I literally stated in one of my earlier posts that selling both is likely the best option. My point was that if I was to keep Fab or the skipper I’d go Fab because at the very least he is better than average (by the numbers) at the job he would asked to do next season. Henderson isn’t good enough defensively to been the main #6 and he probably doesn’t meet the technical standard required of the 8s in the any system we are likely to play.

Just have to agree to disagree, for me Jordan can play the 6, agree as an 8 he isn’t cutting the mustard, but can do they role if required, with our injury woes is a bonus.

I remember when we signed Fab, Jurgen was asked, what does he bring to LFC? Don’t quote me, but it was along the lines of He brings a great family .
He brings that full, beautiful Brazilian package, I think we would miss that at our club.

The order I would let the veteran midfielders leave is:

  1. Thiago
  2. Fabinho
  3. Henderson

However, if someone is giving me £40M for Fabinho, he bumps higher.

We can do something better than Fabinho, with the money. And much longer lasting, too.

So essentially money talks, if someone gives 40 for Hendo but someone else only wanna give 10 for Thiago then they switch?

As far as the last part goes, same can easily be said for all 3.
