Why does this sometimes happen? Why do they leave it until the last day when there’s been a month to do a deal? After all these years I still don’t get it

as much fun as it was following this. i feel badly for this kid, he must be really gutted. Hope he jus signs a pre-contract and the club makes an exception

No one should lose sleep over this, will be revisited in summer and will be settled via a tribunal.
He would’ve been loaned back there anyway so not like we’ve missed out.

Will be interesting to see if we now lock down an agreement ahead of time for summer. If not, he either goes to Dortmund or someone like that, OR we snap him up in the summer and it’s another tribunal for Fulham.
If it turns out they have badly messed us about with this, it won’t end well for them. Wilson money in full. Neco recalled. And they now have a powerful club with no good will toward them.
Has Neco gone though? Has that happened?
This is just a sneaky protracted way of tapping him up. We’ve expressed our interest and wafter 10 million quid under Fulham’s nose before walking away and mouthing at Fabio “call me (in the summer)”. We’ll now wait to sign him for free in the summer before eventually, 2 years down the line, giving Fulham a fiver in a tribunal.
Play the long game, folks.
