Fabio Carvalho (AM) Fulham

Could be worse. He could be doing that every week at the ev, like Dele Alli.

Yep, theyā€™ve got a 5 month period where we arenā€™t officially allowed to do anything.

Donā€™t think we can offer anything until heā€™s out of contract. Foreign teams can offer any time now. Hopefully he is had a verbal agreement he will reject all offers and wait for us. Thatā€™s the risk we are in now. If all works out he rejects the other clubs and we get him for nothing. This deal has gone too far for us not to be back.

ahhā€¦ so we can offer the pre agreement, with CONSENT from fulham

Well I guess weā€™ll see whether the clubā€™s stance that they werenā€™t prepared to take this to tribunal was genuine or just a negotiation tactic.

Foreign team can 6 months before end of contract, domestic teams can 1 before end of contract. Gives Dortmund, Porto, and Barca a hefty wedge of time to work him

So we are the worst case scenario.

Except with the bonus that with a fee already agreed with 6th months on his contract, the tribunal should be lower for a player out of contract.

Hopefully we have turned his head throughout this and he is only for us

They can. But he also now has the bench mark of what we are willing to offer him as well, which will likely make anything any foreign club offer him seem far less attractive.

Reasonable test of the lads character coming right up. Maybe not such a bad thing actually. Heā€™s got all the tools apparently, now I guess everyone shall see what heā€™s made of in the strength of character stakes in his performances for the rest of the season.

I wonder, would us having been willing to pay 10 mil affect the tribunal fee if we get him?

Only if current team hasnā€™t made an offer on equal or better terms by the third Saturday in May, iirc.

Yes. It will be the best benchmark for the Tribunal. Basically, fee set by PFCC cannot now be more than what was agreed today (whatever that amount was). Good argument that it will have to be considerably less.

Not according to Paul Jones

Donā€™t even have to pay his wages now if we get him in 6 months.

Last time we fucked up a transfer and had to wait a window to get our man was VVD. If the juju holds out Carvalho will develop into the worldā€™s best CB.

At least I think thatā€™s how it works.
