Heads of terms basically.

Summary of the main terms agreed.

For anyone interested.

Thatā€™s only if Fulham allow us to, which they are under no obligation to do. If Fulham do not give us permission then we have to wait until at least 1 month before the end of his contract, perhaps longer if Fulham offer him a contract. The foreign clubs can, however, begin contact immediately.

Oke thanks :+1:

This is a good one, will he go for the first offer a foreign club makes, or will he wait for us. Letā€™s see what he is made of.

We already have done though so he knows what we will offer him, and if we are going back in for him. The only issue is whether he still wants to join either when he is out of contract or through a pre deal agreed with Fulham.

Ridiculously simple. I always thought it was a complex thing with many things that can get stuffed up. How does one fuck that sort of shit up?

The bit about sums and breakdown of payments I assume

Iā€™ve seen people say that the EFL donā€™t operate with deal sheets. No idea as Iā€™ve only ever dealt with the PL!

Most reports are saying the issue was with the loan back to Fulham though, seemingly the PL docs were all in order.

True, he does know what he would be offered if he came here. I have no doubt that Klopp made a very compelling pitch to the boy.

At the same time that means he now knows the benchmark to set Fulham, Porto, Dortmund, and Barca in terms of wages and aspirations. Might be Fulham think they can tempt him with higher wages and a release clause a la Grealish at Villa, in which case we cannot act until his contract expires. Likewise the foreign teams have at least 5 months to put together a deal that looks better than what we have offered him.

All depends on if he wants to play specifically for Liverpool. The other teams would be hardpressed to top a Klopp pitch but who knows what the future holds.

Canā€™t LFC give like half the fee now as a kind of deposit, then give the rest at the end of the season so to stop other clubs getting him?

He still wants #LFC move and Fulham are expected to honour that.

How do Fulham propose to honour that?!

So if he was to go to the likes of Dortmund in the summer Fulham would get nothing/250k?

Surely itā€™s in Fulhamā€™s interests to finalize the agreement for a pre-agreement with LFC ASAP

Well, Fulham are almost out of the picture now. They need to give us permission to get a pre-agreement in place with Carvalho sharpish. Almost certainly this will result in a renegotiated fee and always possible that the player looks to increase his demands too.

Itā€™s up to the player now surely? And if we still want to talk to him in summer.

Fulham have fucked themselves here. Even if we agree to pay compensation to the value of the transfer fee agreed its entirely up to the player now. He might decide to go somewhere else and they could get bugger all from a European club or less than what we offered from another English club.

After today we have no reason to enter anymore discussions with Fulham, talk to the player and his agent when he has a month or so remaining and get it done direct.

Leaves the door open for other parties to fuck it all up.
