He has a route to the first team and can play with world class players every day in training, which will make him get better. I think we only loan out players who have a limited scope to play first team football or are not wanted anymore.
We loaned Elliot to blackburn in his second season after one season with the reserve team. I daresay that Carvalho has proven that heās too good for the championship level so if thereās a loan move, Itāll have to be a move to a midtable premier league side where minutes are guaranteed. OR , play a backup role in the league with us and start in the cup matches.
How will he learn to be the Firmino replacement without learning from the Firmino?
Eliot had played 2 games for Fulham before joining us, appeared in 8 games for us in that first season and so the move to Blackburn was a natural part of development for a player that as Sweeting says had limited scope to play first team football. Carvalho has already played 36 games for Fulham.
Like I said, Elliot needed the season at Championship. Carvalho doesnāt.
If Carvalho does go on a loan, It should be to a premier league side. Fulham might be a possibility and is definetly possible. But Liverpool play quite a lot of matches and I can easily see Fabio getting 15 matches a season atleast.
The main difference though, is Elliot only got put into the first team at Fulham in the final 6 months before he joined us. Carvalho has played the whole season as a mainstay for Fulham - so that would be comparable to Elliotās loan spell at Blackburn
Welcome
To the club.
Excited from the glimpses Iāve seen of himā¦portuguese Coutinho.
Thereās no way he will go on loan first season. And depending on the moves we make up front - for example Origi is off, and Minamino might follow, a gap might open up for him to see some action in his first season.
With five subs allowed next season, and the prospect of us being comfortable and having some league games virtually won on the hour mark, not to mention the cup competitions, thereās a path for him to train here and see some action.
He is older than when we signed Elliot and their development and experience are at different levels at the point of arriving at Liverpool. Iām not saying Carvalho will never go out on loan, but heās now of an age where that is starting to make less sense.
He wonāt be going out on loan, weāll need him to play.
There were several games down the stretch where we looked tired and out of ideas where the game was crying our for bobbyā¦his ability to find space in different positions than our other players do and then do something clever from there. Those are huge shoes to fill for a 19 year old with no prem experience, but would be thrilled if this is what they are earmarking him for.
Fulham fans here speaking very highly of them, usually when a player leaves youāll see fans trying to downplay their ability but not so much here.
He looks amazing in this tbh. Supremely comfortable in possession, very quick off the mark, runs in behind, hard working out of possession. Goes shoulder to shoulder with Fernandinho and keeps the ball.
Delighted that we got this lad! He looks ready for the PL and will be another exciting one to watch developing under Kloppās guidance.
