Federico CHIESA: 2025/26

He got the goal, and he was a bit of a nuisance at times, but he was as guilty of giving yhe ball away as much as anyone else.

I’d say Alisson, Grav and Szob were the standout players today and Chiesa had a decent cameo but he was nowhere near the best performers.

He’s an attacking player and came on to play with intent during a time of desperation and nothing was working, you’re always more likely to give away balls in that scenario.

The Motm poll would paint a different picture and Grav getting a standout mention is hilarious, he nodded the ball to Sarr for their first and then played Nketiah on for their winner.

Yes, he was guilty of giving the ball away, but then on the other hand he was very close with the one he curled with his left foot, then he scores with his right, he was probably our most effective forward.

What I like about him is that he is unpredictable and very two footed.

I love Federico. It’s that simple. Probably my favourite player.

I can’t explain it.

Love, eh?

I am baffled as to why Chiesa is not in the squad for the Gala match in turkey?

I’m also confused by Chiesa’s omission.

punishment for making the other attackers look bad on Saturday,
despite only been on the pitch for around 20 mins!

According to Slot, he has a niggle, and couldn’t finish the training session. He has been left out of the travelling side in the hope that he is fit for the Chelsea match.

I wouldn’t blame him :joy:

But he’s just sponsoring some friends.

Another day passes by without the lad getting even a minute, despite of many forwards being obviously off form at the minute. Oh well…

After today’s game, it’s now clearer than ever that Slot has something personal against Chiesa. Whatever it is, it’s costing the team dearly and that’s on the coach. I hope Chiesa gets a transfer in Jan coz the treatment he’s getting here is really disgusting.

After his 10 mins against Palace he picked up something that limited him to just 1 day of training last week

Ì understand that he didn’t train consistently during the week but I would have liked him to get 10/15 minutes today instead of Cody who looked knackered towards the end. Could have been a game changer

So why have him on the bench? Ngumoha wasn’t in the squad and afaik isn’t injured.

Rio is ex chelsea and is young , do we really want to expose him at that age and development stage to the abuse the chelsea fans would scream at him?

Does feel a bit like excuses at this point.

Yeah, his career would have been finished.

But also interesting how he’s still not making the Italy squad, even when he plays a bit more (and better) this season and considering the (lack of proven) options they have.

Italy’s recent attacking players called up: Orsolini (12 caps), Cambiaghi (1 cap), Raspadori (44 caps), Retegui (24 caps), Esposito (3 caps), Piccoli (1 cap).

Didnt he get the call from Gatusso and told him he wasnt ready?
