FIFA - All that’s wrong with football

It’ll just be the USA, Russia and Belarus.

And the USA will still lose.

FIFA has to give opportunities and chances to (everyone) all over the world

Yeah - opportunities to give you backhanders, slaphead.

A bad tournament just got worse. That amount of new money added to the game and shared among a small collection of clubs will exacerbate a problem I thought everyone agreed was a problem that needed to be addressed

There are growing concerns at Canada Soccer that the preparations are nowhere close to where they need to be in the US, and that that isn’t going to get any better with the dysfunction in the Federal government. Canada hosted the women’s cup in 2015, so still have some people with direct experience - albeit with a much smaller event. Venues are behind schedule, travel is looking like it will be a nightmare, and visa issuance has slowed down in the past two months - the visitor flow would require a massive surge.

Top 2 go through the the KOs

This tournament is going to end up like Henry Kelly’s going for gold.

“Ok, Claus from Denmark. You have lost each of the last 7 times you have been on, but today you just need to lose by less than Inga from Sweden to make it the QFs”

Donald Trump hands himself vital World Cup role with US set to host soccer showpiece

President Donald Trump is set to kick start preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday.

The United States is set to co-host the soccer showstopper along with Canada and Mexico - two nations Trump has threatened with a trade war - next summer.

And in preparation for the international tournament arriving stateside, the President will sign an executive order Friday establishing a White House Task Force for the event.

The 78-year-old has, naturally, appointed himself to serve as chair with his Vice President, JD Vance, set to serve as vice chair, a White House official said

Oh can he run on take a penalty, Kick JD Vance in the head instead and keel over.

That would be a World Cup to remember.

I’m now seriously considering giving a swerve to the next world cup for political reasons, just as I did for the previous one in Qatar. :see_no_evil:

The thing is, I like watching the World Cup, seeing the smaller countries team occasionally doing an upset to the big countries, like Cameroon beating Argentina in the first match. I think it was 1990 World Cup. Seeing all the fans from different countries in their colourful attire, singing and clapping is so lovely. There is a sense of togetherness of fans around the world united by football.
The fact that Trumpfe will still be President has put a right damper on the whole tournament. He and Infantino will be outdoing each other to hog the limelight with their big egos.
I don’t feel like watching it either.

Infantino trying to outdo Blatter I can see the World Cup will be boycotted by Europe if that happens as clubs in Europe are already straining under the load UEFA are putting on the champions league. I can see UEFA following suit and making it 64 clubs top heavy league.
