FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico

Whoever that American bloke was on ITV can we not see or hear him again.

He made Richards seem tame.

I didn’t think South Africa were very good tonight.

Kimi Antonelli (the new young F1 hotshot) got asked about the World Cup, despite reluctance to talk
About it as his beloved Italy aren’t in it. When asked about who might win, he mentioned “many tough teams” and proceeds to list Argentina, Spain, England, Germany as favourites.

France, Portugal, Brazil be like

Into the box*

I mean really why does it matter if you smack the guy on the line or 1cm outside. The guy was about to run into the box and have a chance to score.

I will be stunned if this Brazil makes it to the semis

Brazil are the biggest flop candidates.

If any thing can be fucked up VAR can do it,a shoe in!

This is a surprisingly good game. Korea are making all the running and are always up for it, but just got suckered by a brilliant set piece goal.

FIFA should have had the final in the iconic Azteca stadium. Mexico, a real football nation, where the fans create the atmosphere

FIFA should award an extra point to each team that plays positive attacking football and tries to win the game without resorting to set pieces. South Korea should get four points for that win.
You lose that extra point if you get a red card. So even the Mexico did play relatively more attacking in the first match their defender getting sent off against the extra point.

There is a red card rule to penalise that already, we can’t go messing with one of the more clear cut rules and add grey area opinion to it. Inside the penalty area it’s a penalty, outside the area it’s not. Don’t give refs/VAR more scope to mess things up.
