There have been hundreds of CBs who won the world cup and collected more league/ CL titles and other trophies. More than Virgil will be able to collect until the end of his career.
CBs who have been on the highest performance level for longer than Virgil could be because he was pretty ‘old’ when he arrived here.
Beckenbauer, Baresi, Cannavaro, Maldini, Nesta, Aldair, Lucio, Hansen, Puyol, Hierro, Chiellini, Blanc, Desailly…
And what about trophy collection of Ferdinand, Terry, Ramos, Pique, Hummels, Boateng…
I am sure other posters will be able to name even more greater CBs.
Would love to see Virgil lift the World Cup but it probably still wouldn’t put him in the Top30 ever.

I’m a critic of him but not sure how Southgate has reverted to type here. He’s playing 4-3-3 with attacking players. Saka can provide the pace. Foden the guile. Hendo will be very important.
