Someone in the crowd threw him a doll. Itâs not as if he was up all night making it. The only âobsessionâ seems to be from sensitive English fans whoâd probably have to take to their beds for a fortnight if they heard half the in game exchanges between players.
Maybe Emi should read Alf Ramsayâs book on âwinning graciouslyâ.
Glad Iâm not English and sensitive.
Did Ruud just wake up?
Didnât read this, but was it punishment from FIFA for their refereeing contributions to the world?
How pathetic
Infantino wonât be answering any questions about this unless heâs feeling a bit salty today.
I have no clue who he is or what heâs doing.
Better that you donât. Itâs not worth anyoneâs time.
Heâs a famous-from-Instagram Turkish chef who has a theatrical way of cutting steak and sprinkling salt on it. He leveraged that into a string of way-too-expensive restaurants all around the world. And is always in the lookout for insta photo ops to stay relevant. And apparently mates with Infantino
These are the Qatari cunts who some try to use whataboutism to say we shouldnât criticise because âthe westâ. The Qatar WC will always remain spoiled by being held in such a disgusting place. Qataris are slavers and will face a reckoning.
The young Ghanaian men are in their third month here and are yet to be paid a penny. âThey told us they would pay this month but they told us that the previous times too,â says Isaac.
These men deployed to keep an entire state running are being shuttled straight from one confinement into what is, effectively, another.
Moses usually worked 12-hour days before the World Cup, essentially becoming 14 when travel was factored in, with no extra payment.
âWhat do Qataris give us?â he asks. âNothing. They treat us like we arenât human, like weâre pieces of shit. âKacharaâ [âgarbageâ], they shout at us. The attitude is that we barely exist.â
One of the most common sanctions mentioned to the Guardian is some companiesâ habit of docking a worker two daysâ salary for missing a dayâs work, which is not uncommon due to physical or mental fatigue.
âIn the end, this is just a big prison where you can work. Nobody would be here if they had any other option, and Qatar knows it. What we are seeing here is modern slavery.â
Laughable, as classless as the celebrations. Youâre the only sensitive one.
If I remember correctly, their citizenship is actually smaller than the migrant worker population? Others might differ but Sparta actually springs to my mind (the helots, not the warrior bit). Continuation of such policy is eventually likely to lead to some sort of revolt, mark my words.
Well, clearly.
Citizens are around 10% I think?
I have been keeping up with the whole thread and I feel compelled to say that I think you are being unfair towards Maria. You are a good poster and a sound red, and I really donât want to cause offence, but I feel compelled to speak out here.
I havenât seen anyone defend the current leaders of Qatar, or their policies. I have read everything Maria has written, and she brings a valuable perspective on the place and the people, having spent time living there.
It should be possible to legitimately criticize Qatar without resorting to ad hominem attacks on your fellow forumites.
You are rightly calling out the terrible treatment of migrant workers. I just wish that could be done without slamming a reasonable fellow poster on this forum.
Peace and love!
Fair enough. I felt differently but as you (and probably others) read it differently I am prepared to retract my comments to @Maria and donât want to muddy my point (or this forum more generally) with unnecessary personal bike. I apologise!
*bile. I could never get behind any number of âpersonal bikeâ being unnecessary, especially as all riders know the n+1 rule.
Full respect to you my friend.
This woman reported to be 80yrs young at the WC paradeâŚ
Anyone else notice how elongated down below her navel the blurred out pixels had to be to cover her assets :0)
Im very confident that mbappe will have the last laugh,
Just give him time
