Interesting that Morocco have two lefties at CB (Saiss and Aguerd) + a righty at LB (Mazraoui). Would be good to press them and test that.
Croatia’s only small doubts position wise were RCB and right side of attack. Today, it’s Lovren and Vlasic from the start in those positions. Didn’t want Lovren, but there you go.
Depends when. He finished last Euro as the first choice on that side (which isn’t his natural position, but can do a job). He’s in good form for Torino so far this season. Vida has dropped since WC18, he’s now 5th choice on paper. Probably only took him for experience and extra cover. It was more between Lovren and Sutalo/Erlic.
I see, Croatia aren’t really blessed with attacking options especially on the wing but have many good midfield options…it’s a shame Pasalic has completely been a no show this season.
I remember watching Ivanusec at the u21 championships a good few years back now and looked like 1 of the brightest players of the tournament but not sure what happened to him.
I’m quite impressed that Bono is playing in goal for Morocco. It’s not bad considering is dodgy eyesight, and other health problems, and the fact that he is 62 and I’ve only seen him prancing around before with U2.
Shame that Vlasic’s attempt didn’t go in, that was the chance for a winner.
Morocco are athletically a very good side, they all look lean, hungry, aggressive and energetic.
One thing I didn’t get is how Amrabat doesn’t get booked for nor appearing on the pitch to start the second half.
Situation where the ref has 21 players on the pitch, he obviously doesn’t start the second half, but in my opinion if it’s not a matter of seconds, almost a full minute… that should be a yellow card.
