Interesting that Morocco have two lefties at CB (Saiss and Aguerd) + a righty at LB (Mazraoui). Would be good to press them and test that.
Croatia’s only small doubts position wise were RCB and right side of attack. Today, it’s Lovren and Vlasic from the start in those positions. Didn’t want Lovren, but there you go.
Let’s go!

Hasn’t Vlasic been a regular for some time now?
Lovren for sure is a surprise, wouldv’e thought Vida.
Depends when. He finished last Euro as the first choice on that side (which isn’t his natural position, but can do a job). He’s in good form for Torino so far this season. Vida has dropped since WC18, he’s now 5th choice on paper. Probably only took him for experience and extra cover. It was more between Lovren and Sutalo/Erlic.
I see, Croatia aren’t really blessed with attacking options especially on the wing but have many good midfield options…it’s a shame Pasalic has completely been a no show this season.
I remember watching Ivanusec at the u21 championships a good few years back now and looked like 1 of the brightest players of the tournament but not sure what happened to him.
Stagnation.
Ivanusec’s development has stagnated, while Majer kicked on and is doing well at Rennes.

Good attempt by Perisic.
The stadiums seem to be majority Arabs/Africans/South Americans and no Europeans.
Not quite sure how the lino didn’t spot that went out of play…literally 2 yards from the fucking bender.
Bit like the Mexico Poland game yesterday this, neither side really threatening just a bit of you have the ball we have the ball.
Big chance for Modric to end the half in what’s otherwise been a poor display from the Croats.
I’m quite impressed that Bono is playing in goal for Morocco. It’s not bad considering is dodgy eyesight, and other health problems, and the fact that he is 62 and I’ve only seen him prancing around before with U2.

Hakimi’s been fucking brilliant.
Really is some player.

A fucking diver just like the rest of Marocco.
Yep not much between the 2 sides impressed with the CB West Ham bought looked very assured, surprised how many sides have struggled to score a goal.
Qatar Senegal Denmark Tunisia Mexico Poland and now Morocco and Croatia.
Pretty sterile from Croatia going forward.
Shame that Vlasic’s attempt didn’t go in, that was the chance for a winner.
Morocco are athletically a very good side, they all look lean, hungry, aggressive and energetic.
One thing I didn’t get is how Amrabat doesn’t get booked for nor appearing on the pitch to start the second half.
Situation where the ref has 21 players on the pitch, he obviously doesn’t start the second half, but in my opinion if it’s not a matter of seconds, almost a full minute… that should be a yellow card.
Van Gaal would say “they looked horny”
No idea what the rules are concerning that, fairly unprecedented. Maybe he had a valid reason and needed to finish his piss.
But Croatia were dog, those who had them and Denmark as dark horses looking pretty stupid right about now.

Piss or no piss, that needs to be punished. I see much stupider yellow cards. No wonder their head coach was going mad.
And yeah, Croatia and Denmark didn’t produce quality performances in week 1. We’ll see how it evolves.
How come Japan didn’t call up Furuhashi?
At least as a squad option…
Seeing Sule at RB I hope for Germany’s sake that Gnabry is at right wing…
Oh man, Sule is not mobile enough to play there
