Think Leverkusen fans will be more upset at the fact that ETH is joining than Wirtz leaving.
Hi guys. Iam a Leverkusen fan and read this thread for days Iam interested what you think about this transfer.
So now I read, that Leverkusen fans will be mad about Liverpool signing Wirtz + Frimpong.
I can confirm, that we are everything but not mad or angry about the players neihter Liverpool. We are great thankful for the titles they won for us and more thankful that Wirtz will not join Bayern.
So cheers Good job Liverpool.
And to ETH: We are skeptical but not upset. We hope he can push the team like Ajax.
Sorry for my English
Welcome
Look John what I have got for you
Hi Fiasko,
Welcome to this forum, you are very welcome. It’s always good to have the feedback of fans from other clubs.
We are understandably over the moon to land two good young players like these two, but as you are here, I’d like to hear from you how you value both Wirtz and Frimpong, what their main qualities were for Leverkusen, and what you think they can bring to us.
Oh, and congrats for winning the double last summer. That was some ride, eh?
Think you should be fine with ETH as a stop gap as long as he isn’t given power over transfers.
He had a very good team with Ajax (compared to the rest of the eredivise). Doubt he can win the league with Leverkusen.
Hi and thank you for your warm welcome Last season was the football ride of my life
To Jery: He was one of our key players, together with Tah, Grimaldo, Xhaka and Wirtz. His offensive output was very high. Just watch his stats. BUT Liverpool plays a 4-2-3-1 right!? (Iam not sure. 4 in the back!?) Leverkusen played a 5-2-2-1. So he had the chance, to be more offensive. His defensive skills are expandable. But it was the same with TAA, or!? I think he will make you happy on the pitch. AND very important. He is such a nice guy. Always funny and positive. He was gold for our lockerroom and team chemistry.
To Flo: What can I say. All of you have watched mutiple best offs, right!? Nothing more to say about his offensive output. BUT what the most people neglect is the fact, that he is really hard worker against the ball. He has won the 2nd most duels in the hole league. As a offensive player.
Is he worth 130-150 Mio €!? That has to deside your club. Is he one of the best offensive midfielders in Europe? 100% sure.
Hope I can help you a little bit and my English was understandable!?
I dont want him to win the league. Iam happy when we reach the top 4 for the cl. Winning the league the next years will be nearly impossible for us
Iam happy with the one we got.
you’re talking dirty to us
Very understandable, thanks very much.
For some reason, I think that Frimpong will be an even more important move for us than Wirtz, because the loss of Trent is a hard one to replace, and I’ve a super-good feeling about the lad in terms of general balance for the team. You’re right that Trent was given a lot of licence to go forward, or to shift his position into midfield, so it will be interesting to see what Slot’s ideas are for him.
But obviously, Wirtz seems to be one of these rare x-factor players, and that is always precious. Good to hear that he’s a hard worker too, although it doesn’t surprise me that this would be a key attribute in Slot’s eyes.
Looking forward to see these two play next season!
Don’t worry about your English, it’s good. Welcome to TAN.
I’m a closet Leverkusen fan, and the trigger was their triple failure in 2002.
That Lucio goal through Dudek’s legs was one of my first painful nights as a Liverpool fan, being 11, cried like a baby.
Understandable.
It was one of the best games I have ever seen. Our small stadium exploded. I was 23 and watched it with my grandma (RIP). Man, she was sooo happy.
Of course, always appreciate the good times!
You had some very decent teams and players over the years.
Wish you well for the future.
I have a feeling we will play Wirtz as a false No.9 or from the left as Szob will definetly start. I dont see us going for a striker unless Nunez leaves.
Welcome Fiasko, some great insights youve provided and its appreciated , can i ask what you think is the most important position for Leverkusen to improve on with the transfer money going your way?
May i suggest that your main attacker needs an upgrade and as Leverkusen have played hardball and won with the haggling on prices , do you agree that Liverpool should not bother haggling the price with you and just accept the £100 million you will offer for Darwin Nunez?
Hi. So I think ETH will play a 4-2-3-1. But Iam not sure. If I think about the players that we actually have, we will need a RB and 2 player for the offense. But not a striker. We have Boniface and Schick. Maybe Boniface will leave but therefor we will buy a young talent. That are the rumours. And Leverkusen will never pay s.th. like 100million or s.th. even in the near for a player. The highest what we ever payed was 32 Mio € for a player. They will spend the money on young talents like they did in the past. Maybe a player like Paz for 40-45 Mio but not more.
Once he signs they will warn him to stay away from their goalkeeper and Tarko the otter!
From a pure numbers perspective, I think someone has to leave in addition to Nunez before we go for a striker - although that someone could perhaps be Elliot rather than another of the front 6 depending on what Slot’s vision for how we set up truly is.
Ya. you may be right. Elliott might leave to Spurs or Wolves. Still feel Barca is too keen on Diiaz and South American players tend to move to Real or Barca. They have loaned out Ansu Fati to AS Monaco with a loan + buy option. His wages is close to 300k Euros per week. They have room for one player to come but not sure whether they can pay around 70 million for Diaz.
