All of the exits they are experiencing this summer were roundly expected last summer. Probably driven by Alonso’s decision to stay they had the very rare opportunity to try to run it back, and I’d imagine the overwhelming majority of the fans were fully aware it was a last dance for this group.
I have two friends who are Leverkusen fans, season ticket holders. Which isn’t a bad number, considering how many fans they have overall (though their numbers seem to be going up since last season).
Like others said, they were happy Wirtz and Alonso even stayed for last season, and they’re getting good money, not losing them to Bayern. They’re not at the top of the food chain, but also hardly at the bottom, got that title curse off their back, could be worse for them really.
They’ll be happy that their gem goes abroad, and not to Bayern. Besides, milking an English club is always enjoyable. It’ll count almost as much as a trophy.
Are his shin pads matchboxes?
On a serious note - I really don’t think that’s a very widespread sentiment here.
I hope someone has told him about Everton.
That will presumebly be a first big step in his development , i posted a video already a while ago in which he explains that one of his pre match ritual is cutting his socks short btw, he wears ultra mini shin pads.
Edit, i found the “Wirtz tutorial”
When the bbc website announces a move, it means that it’s done already.
So, similar to Trent leaving us for Madrid?
Yeah whats’ ~£120m between friends?
What’s the hit on the FFS front? I’m assuming that the initial £100m will be split over 5 years and with his wages would make it £35m per year?
I wonder how many of the mythological shirt sales it would take to cover that?
Im on tenterhooks waiting for Walshy updates in this thread the same way I am with @GermanRed in the match threads
Linda…where is my credit card.
