This potential transfer has come completely out of nowhere, and I’m surprised the Club seems serious about moving in this direction. If the Club buys Wirtz, sooner or later they will almost certainly have to buy a striker. I just can’t see them buying Wirtz to supply Nunez. The Club bought itself time to move on from Salah with the two-year contract extension: Wirtz could be the beginning of moving on from him, replacing Salah’s phenomenal goals and assists output not with a like-for-like (hard to find), but with a more traditional CAM-CF approach with wingers / wing-backs “chipping in”. Perhaps the Club feels this approach may be more replicable in the long-term.
Who knows what will happen this summer, maybe Diaz indeed might go.
For some of us fans in more of an unknown than the club, it might be luxury. For the club, it might be absolutely the need for him and a great opportunity.
Harsh. I sometimes wonder whether you are a cleverly programmed outrage bot. And no doubt some wonder if I’m some mutated fuxkwit bot. The only bot I know here is @discobot who sadly hasn’t been seen in a while. Hello my man?
I don’t the transfer fee will be an issue, if he is the player we really want then we have shown in the past that we are willing to stump up. It will the wages, agent fees, add-ons and structure of the deal that could cause an issue.
I’m really talking myself into believing that this is going to happen and that this guy, whom I’ve never watched play, is the second coming.
