It’s looking more promising. I’d like it to close soon though, so we don’t end up chasing him all summer and risk it falling through late on.
He is a smashing player, so bring it on. As a football fan I’m intrigued as to how Slot would shape his team with Wirtz. Will he be a false nine, or will another striker play in front of him to offer more of a traditional focal point?
Fake news. While there are some parallels, his post seems to stay largely to one main talking point, and doesn’t splinter to something completely unrelated to the subject at hand.
Not sure I understand the thinking here. How do you know we do not “absolutely need him”? For that matter what does that even mean?
None of us is privy to the thinking of AS and Hughes. All we can go by is that, if they are going in for a player, it means that we absolutely need the player…
Anyone who’s watched Wirtz closely can tell that he is a transformational kind of talent…As good as we are in attack, there’s still considerable room to expand the game model and to grow. In between the lines and in small spaces, our game is not yet top notch. Wirtz has the talent to change this..
Our trxfer history shows that we work across the spectrum of talent, up and coming with room to grow, as well as established players.
Wirtz is a top talent, but watching him its clear he still has considerable room to grow…
I don’t dispute his talents. And maybe we will indeed be better off with him. But do we need him at this moment of time like the way VVD and Alisson was to put down world record fees for them. He is not a 126mil talent, as good as he seems to be now. I am not disputing that he could indeed be the next best thing but as of now to put down 126mil with God knows what wages he wants on a possible world class player. Nope, sorry not for me. But If the club finds it somewhere to really want him for that money, of course I will welcome him.
Ha, only because you couldn’t possibly comprehend the full scale of his groundbreaking work from this short extract. This is more than just football, it’s a cause, a mission.
This is precisely my point. You have no way of knowing this.
If both AS and Hughes have indeed made a determination to go for him, then it can only mean that YES we need him.
