Number of posts is completely irrelevant, it’s the number of wirtz that counts.
I was that about Dom. I’d flagged him as someone who fit perfectly about 2 years before we signed him. When I saw the links I rubbished them and kept saying “I wish we were actually interested, but it doesnt make much sense, and not at his release…we’re activating his what?”
Wirtz charts as an elite playmaker and top tier chances created machine.
He could become Liverpool’s own version of KDB if we can sign him.
It’s clear that Slot wants more technique, skill and creativity. To achieve more control and domination, as he said.
Around a month into the season I predicted we would be eyeing a new #9 and a new #10 very soon. Now we have to see if there’s another little change in structure, if this happens.
There are one or two ways how Szobo and Wirtz could start together, but it’s less important - the better player/performer plays as in every position and that’s it.
I think it’s a case of supplementing Soboszlai.
We’ve been using him as a tireless workhorse and he’s essentially been run to the ground to enable the likes of Trent , Mac , Dom and Mo have more support.
A player like Wirtz in theory should be able to form a square midfield 4 as a #10. Allows us more creativity and control from the midfield and reduces the number of our and out forward players we need.
Depends on the players we do get. But the 4222 formation with attacking wingbacks , 2 defensive midfielders , 2 #10s (among Mac , Wirtz , Dom, Jones) and 2 inside forwards should be doable.
Would possibly mean that we reinforce on the defensive midfield side as well too along with the cb.
I’m thinking 5-6 players to be integrated this season into the team. It’s definitely a lot of new transfers coming in but probably something that needs to be done. We’ve always spent big once every 3 seasons and this rebuild needs to be done sooner rather than later.
1 CB , 2 wingbacks , 1 CDM , 1 CAM , 1 forward player.
Excited for the coming season already.
I would give @PeachesEnRegalia 's left ball sack to get a player like Vitinha in to the double pivot.
His parents have been pretty busy.
I’d see him as a Trent replacement in terms of creativity (though not position obviously). Trent is currently our “KDB” (apparently he’s actually posted better numbers than him for getting the ball in the box over the years he’s been in our first team).
With Frimpong reportedly more like to find space down the right wing than come inside (like Trent), the net impact of getting both could work very well… Also potentially setting us up nicely for a post Salah future with less dependence on his right wing creativity.
Of course I’m a naturally optimistic fool, but the future looks (potentially) bright based on rumours so far.
The idea of us beating Bayern due to their massive arrogance is just too delicious to resist. However, he’ll probably still end up there, knowing how things work in German football.
If he came, could we see a formation with Salah and Diaz/Gakpo in the inside right/left positions and Frimpong and Kerkez overlapping, Dom and Macca as eights and Gravy as the six?
Frimpong/Bradley Ibou VVD Kerkez/Robbo
Gravy
Dom Macca
Wirtz
Mo Diaz/Gakpo
I read that Bayer havent sold Munich a player since 2004.
I only remember 2 players transferred directly between the two. However it was before 2004, Ze Roberto & Michael Ballack. Who was it in 2004?
Lucio. One of the best CBs ever.
I know him just forgot about him
Another update…
https://x.com/BayernSpace/status/1925569191605666274?t=BQS7I5opORogZDzL3AiUDQ&s=19
I receive countless private messages, Bayern fans throwing heavy insults at me, Liverpool fans asking endless questions. My message is out there, and I stand by it with full conviction. Many of you will soon see that I was right, even if I don’t like putting it that way, because this was never about proving a point, it’s about clarity.
To the Liverpool fans who’ve been following closely, stay calm and stay patient. You’ve asked the right questions, and you’re seeing the signs, article by article, everything is heading in your direction. The next major update, which will quietly surface through familiar media channels, is that Liverpool have submitted a bid for Florian Wirtz to Bayer Leverkusen. That is the next stage, confirmed through the inner circle, and once that happens, and once it gets leaked to the media, because it’s important for you to understand that the timing is different and it won’t get leaked immediately, maybe even the last Bayern fan who mocked me and called me names will finally start to understand what many of you already know, Florian Wirtz has given his word to Liverpool.
Inside Bayern, like I said, it is no longer a mystery. They are fully aware that Wirtz wants the move sorted, ideally even the medical, before the Nations League Final Four. At the very least, he wants an agreement in place with Liverpool and Leverkusen before joining the national team. He is already anticipating the heavy media pressure while he is in Munich with the DFB squad, and he wants to avoid the distraction of a full-blown PR campaign, which Bayern outlets are already preparing under orders from the highest levels of the Bayern board.
Liverpool have moved smartly and quietly, and everything now depends on timing. The plan is to have the deal completed before the Nations League Final Four begins, though of course, timelines can shift, and nothing is guaranteed.
Still, the direction is clear.
Nations League resumes on 4th June, so not long to wait now…
Allegedly.
That opening paragraph is so @GermanRed other than the “it’s about clarity” bit
Let’s hope that this guy is right more than GermanRed is.
I believe in walshy and bayernspace.
Peaches better apologize to walshy when this deal goes through
