I hope so, but to a point. In other words, if we try to enter into a period of negotiation over the transfer fee it might open the door again for Bayern Munich; or it might even slightly undermine the good work we have done so far.
Maybe we have decided it is time to be decisive and make a statement? And so while momentum shifts our way, we want to capitalize on that and close it out asap.

I would rather sign Guler (if he’s available) for a lot less than Wirtz and use the rest of the money on other players.
But it isn’t my decision. If the club think that Wirtz is worth the outlay, that’s all that matters.

We have Frimpong , Kerkez(mostly seeing the news) , Mamardashvili already lined up and supposedly now Wirtz.
Any further transfers would purely be based on the outgoings now.
Still think we need a CB.
Considering that we were ready to bid huge money for Caicedo and we didn’t spend any money last season. I suppose we still do have credit in the bank.

Just want to say Guler is a good player. I wouldn’t know how much Real Madrid would want for him, and whether or not he is available, or would even come here.
I half suspect Alonso might like to run the rule over Guler and he might even get a more prominent role at Real Madrid moving forward.
As things stand Wirtz, for me, is the more accomplished player, and I will be delighted if we move decisively and close out the deal.
It will be expensive, but I really like to see us making bold moves. I expect we will make quite a few sales to help fund the other business we anticipate this summer.

With the various permutations most of us have tried on so far, it looks like we can expect to raise a very healthy sum from player sales this summer.
It really could be shaping up to be a huge window.

He’s nearly two years older than Guler.
As I said, I’m happy with whatever the club decides: they know far more about the players than any of us. But if it were my decision, I’d be going Guler + others instead of just Wirtz.
