He will definetly leave this season as he has only 2 years in his contract. Next year Bayern will do a Madrid and make him run down his contract or will get him for 50 million max. So he is coming to us this window.

Certainly sounds promising. It has progressed from looking like a Bayern formality - to the Wirtz family upset with presumptuous Bayern - to Man City and Liverpool showing their hand - to Man City dropping out - to Liverpool making an impressive case to Wirtz - to Wirtz weighing his options carefully - to Bayern and Hoeness in particular sticking his beak in to either solidify or try to retrieve the deal for them - to now Ornstein saying it looks very promising for Liverpool.

Wirtz told City no and not Bayern yes. At that time, there was only known interest from 2 Clubs (City and Bayern) so he gambled and said if it’s not option A then it is option B. He’s clearly getting information he just doesn’t have all the information which is understandable.

From the outside looking in it feels like Bayern wanted him this summer but only at a knock down price and were happy to wait till next summer if they couldn’t get it.
Our interested has scuppered the knock down price cos we’ll pay the full whack, and Wirtz now doesn’t wanna waste a year. Especially given the fact Ten Haag is looking likely to take over from Xabi.
The last bit is a joke but you get the idea.

Changed my mind over the last couple of days and I’m now at least 70% sure Wirtz will be a red. Was too busy with work and gym today so I had no time to post.
No secret that Uli Hoeneß had his tongue in Wirtz’ fathers ass for over two years now - that’s why most people in Germany think Florian is Bayern bound.
Financially they can not compete with us. Before our interest was confirmed two weeks ago one of the headlines in Germany was ‘Bayern mobilizing their sponsors (Adidas) to help landing Wirtz’
Thinking about it now - why should Adidas invest money to help Bayern compete in a bidding war if Wirtz’ other option is to join another Adidas Club like Liverpool? We don’t need Adidas money to sign him.

He noticed that Kompany’s tactical approach against Inter wasnt consistent with the plan put forward by BayernSpace and then critically dented his confidence in the manager. Bayern have never been able to recover since then in the eyes of Wirtz.
