There’s definitely ‘a chance’ of it happening, otherwise why would we have been talking to him and his family. All the bullshit from ‘bayernspace’ etc doesn’t make this more or less likely

I think we are beyond cat in hell’s chance.
The bookies have us and Bayern both at 7/4 so they see it neck and neck.
Personally I think Bayern are more likely, and I put it about 65/35 in their favour. But I think we are definitely on the running.

Yep, we have a chance here, and not a Jim Carey Dumb and Dumber chance! Like everyone is saying, hopefully it comes to a conclusion soon, either way, so we can get on with what we need to do this summer.
I get the impression that Wirtz has been raised well and is a level headed lad. He would be a good fit here with that side of things, and as a player in that final third, he would add something we do not currently possess to help us against all the teams that have no ambition and just want to block us.
Wirtz is seriously weighing his options after we have caught his attention with a good bid and a lot of homework as to how he fits into Slot’s plans.
Bayern tend to have it their own way with German talent, and my best guess is they will close this deal too, at a price higher than they wanted to pay. But you never know.
I bet within a week we will know one way or the other, and continue with our plans accordingly.

For what it’s worth Sacha had previously stated he was nailed on Bayern. So either playing the odds or something’s changed.
I put no weight in his opinions personally, ornstein a different matter though.

Sacha is quite reliable with German football. Remember him breaking Gravenberch joining us from Bayern.
