My feeling is that if we look to make lots of progress then things start to go a little cold, then potentially there may be an issue with another club moving in for the transfer and the player having their head turned. So my pessimism usually does correlate nicely with time.
Sure there are some examples like Thiago that seemed to drag on for like 2 months from the initial reporting and we still got him, but I will for sure by filing this under the “nope, probably not” category of we are still discussing this in a week’s time. Especially for such a high profile target.
And feel free to pick out the 1000 transfers I’ve forgotten about that did drag on and we still got them. My recollection of transfer events is shit 
I think we got burnt with Quaresma, Fekir, Remy, Caicedo, Lavia et al. I even remember Taribo West and Lucas Radebe on the cusp of signing(according to Ceefax)…

Well I wouldve thought Wirzt wouldve known Alonso was going Madrid long before the media. Alonso has had all year to tap him up.
All the reports say the player and his agent have been blown away by LFC and the professionalism plus they have been talking for months.
Hed have to be a prize cunt for sacking us off and going to a club that have shown no interest until now.

If there were even a shred of truth in the Wirtz-to-Madrid rumor, the German media would be full of it and report nothing else from morning to night.
But they’re still only reporting that Florian is moving to Liverpool. Not a word from Madrid!

At this late stage, I can’t imagine it goes sideways - fuck Real Madrid. Can’t wait for Wirtz to tear it up against Trent next season when we knock the cunts out of the CL.
