128 million pound. If he wanted to be believed you’d think he come up with a more believable sum.

From the 1990 World Cup winning squad Guido Buchwald, Uwe Bein, Thomas Häßler, Pierre Littbarski, Andreas Möller and former Liverpool player Karl-Hein Riedle never played for Bayern.

Stefan Kuntz, Fredi Bobic and Oliver Bierhoff who won the EUROs in 1996

WC winner Sami Khedira and Per Mertsacker also.

I mean, good on him. 13yo - stars still painted on his bedroom ceiling and all - trying to find his own angle in this fucked up, online world. Trying to start up his own catchphrase.

I am not likely to believe him…but good on him.

I’m actually likely to believe that one. Bayern isn’t far removed from Real Madrid in terms of their belief that they have a natural, god-given right to any talent within their local pool. The egos at the club won’t just let him up and walk away to Liverpool.

Now I’m reading that Real Madrid want to hijack Florian Wirtz. If this happens, I will be LIVID! I really don’t like RM’s transfer policies. I fully respect their accomplishments as a great football club, but they really make my blood boil how they handle transfers. It’s the one thing I find truly detestable about them.

Don’t look too much into their history if you don’t want your opinion of them to be further tainted.

“There we land” makes more sense than “here we go.”

FFS. Have you come down in the last shower?

You have to remember this is one of the biggest deals potentially this summer so of course anything that is not the given narrative of the deal gets you clicks.

Considering we want this done by the nations league that’s about a week off. Wouldn’t surprise me if Frimpong is announced this weekend and then Wirtz is next week. You have to remember all transfers are one or two days on from the position we hear about. Unless the club actively wants to push something.

This latest one is probably more Leverkusen driving it as it’s not one of the usual outlets.

Wasn’t it AS who first “broke” “the story”?

All these “rumours” are usually just someone trying to manipulate a contract negotiation of some sort, whether a transfer or a contract extension, that gets reposted/recirculated ad nauseam for clicks, like an endless circlejerk.

For anyone who wants actual news, wait until he’s announced by some club as having signed a contract with them, if he’s still playing for Leverkusen when the transfer window ends.

In this particular case, it wouldn’t bother me.

Wirtz is a great talent and I have no idea on how Slot is planning to use him, but looking at the roster, he seems like a luxury signing. A record-breaking, expensive one.

I’d rather we prioritized positions of greater need such as a new LB, a CB (while keeping Quansah), a no.6 to compete with Gravenberch and last but not least a striker. Alvarez would be ideal and if anything, Wirtz’s exorbitant transfer fee would be better spent to secure his services instead of someone we don’t really need.

We needed more playmakers. Especially with Trent going.

Our attack with the majority of attacks flowing through Trent and Salah had become predictable. Thats where Wirtz comes in. Fits in right with Slot wanting more controlled possession and less directness.

Wouldn’t Cherki provide the same? At around £30m, seems like a no brainer. From what I’ve seen of Wirtz, no way he’s worth the reported sums.
