We have no news so made some up at least Joyce admits as much.
Where have you got 20m from?
FIFY
Initial price quoted was around 120 million Euros right and Bayern was offering 80 million Euros. So 105 million pounds approx. equals close to 125 million Euros.
Yeah but we are only offering 84m upfront according to that.
We might not have yet offered them over 100m?
Anyhow as I could have plucked these figures out of thin air and made them look similar I’ll have a guess they know no more than I do.
Nothing new, so might as well add Wolfgang Overath to the non-Bayern legends. Netzer was actually benched in the World Cups because of him.
Hans Peter (the Panzer) Briegel
If Elliott might be going to Leverkusen (there were rumors they were looking at one or two at Liverpool when we started negotiating for Wirtz) I wonder if that would give everyone a little help in getting the deal over the line?
Leverkusen can announce the highest fee possible and say the sum for Elliott was undisclosed. We could announce the lowest fee possible for Wirtz, and say the sum for Elliott was 60M euros or something.
Just thinking out loud. Might be barking up the wrong tree, but there might be a way to help both sides with the requisite PR.
I don’t think there is any PR needed here. Leverkusen are not under much pressure to manipulate the narrative here with everyone seeming to accept the inevitable of Wirtz leaving. Furthermore, other than the Virgil thing we have a great reputation for acting in a respectful way in these deals. Unlike when dealing with clubs like Barca who do slimy shit pushing stories into the press, we do things in private, in a straight up “our word is our bond” sort of way meaning no one ever has to go to the press to push out a face saving story when dealing with us. Christ, two years ago the Brighton guy spoke about us like he was a season ticket holder in the Kop
Elliott may end up there, but if it does it will be because he is independently a good choice for them and them for him, and possibly of good relationships between the clubs making diving straight back into the pool after getting the wirtz deal done not feel like stabbing yourself in the pee hole the way club representatives often feel after closing out a transfer
We helped Southampton shaft Bournemouth with Lallana on % payment by over paying for Lambert to under pay for Lallana.
Lambert. Those were the days. Ouchie!
Quality signing for Pennie league Premier division teams
How can you be 42m apart.
We didnt pay under for Lallana. We paid 25 million which was generally considered a lot of money. The Bournemouth CEO has even clarified that they were not remotely shafted on the deal as a result of shenanigans between us and Southampton, but was an active party in being willing to renegotiate their clause with Southampton to give all 4 parties the best outcome for everyone.
Not losing him to BL rival Bayern is already great from a Leverkusen PR perspective.
Ok
The Bournemouth CEO has gone public to rubbish the claims, but sure laugh and hold on to the story you read on the internet 10 year ago
Blake [Bournemouth CEO] said that the Dean Court club were bound by confidentiality over their share of the cash but that the protracted negotiations had required flexibility from everyone concerned. Blake told the club website: “The transfer fee was undisclosed which means our cut will also remain undisclosed, but it was certainly not as simple as 25 per cent of any fee which has been reported by the press over the past few weeks. There were lots of small sacrifices that had to be made by all parties for the deal to happen, but I think each club involved, and the player himself, can be very happy with the final outcome.”
In otherwords, from the mouth of the CEO who was supposedly shafted, even he is talking positively about the way we work to get deals done that everyone can feel satisfied with
I wont dispute it. Im just going on what John Wilson said when questioned on it during a convention.
Who is John Wilson?
A genius…
