The vast majority of teams do not want to come out and play against Liverpool, as they will be battered. So they tuck in on a low block, and hope to nick something from a set piece or on the break.
Trent’s passing has been one weapon we can use to open teams up, but that is now behind us. I think Frimpong’s pace will help, and we will see more stuff from the byline than we’ve had in a while. If Kerkez signs we will also look more threatening on the left than we’ve been for a while too.
But if we sign Wirtz - and signs are looking very good, thank you Ornstein - we can also go right through the middle, and not just rely on shooting from distance, though that is a nice weapon too.
Wirtz can dribble and beat a man. He megs people for fun. He knits together small, intricate passes that the majority simply do not have the vision to see. He works in tight spaces to open it all up. I expect Mo to come and play closer to him, and hopefully we sign a striker who quickly gets on his wavelength too.
In short, signing Wirtz will up our game in the final third and will hopefully be a large factor in us staying at the top for years to come.

Does Gakpo score tap-ins a lot? I mostly only remember his cut inside and cannon.
Romano’s more like the Dirk Kuyt of transfers. You see him everywhere, and you cringe a lot at much of his work, but when he scores, it’s mainly tap-ins.
