Exactly. It’s actually the only point of interest as far as we are concerned. The club never goes for this kind of overvalued targets anyway, it would have been very uncharacteristic to see us pay loads for a player while Cheaty pull out of the deal.

Wouldnt be surprised if city’s signings drag on due to the 115.
Easier time to pick transfers from them.
Also , they aren’t making good signings atleast as per the Jan window. Marmoush probably will come good but the other signings seem bleh.

And the possibility that City’s weirdness in the market in the last 12 months, and now being priced out of a move they like, does suggest they are concerned about the teeth some of these legal issues might have

How do you determine “overvalued”? Caicedo was rumoured to be what, £115m we were willing to pay? £75m for Virgil van Dijk, which as far as I can tell obliterated the previous record for a defender? Or £66m for Alisson, which did the same for goalkeepers (I think the previous records according to Wikipedia were £52m for Mendy and £33m/52m€ for Buffon)?

What I meant, is jumping in into a short-term bidding war against the likes of Cheaty. We paid expensively for targets in the past, you’re right, but they were all our targets since a long time. Wirtz isn’t one of them.
That’s a really assertive statement considering we don’t have any evidence one way or another? I don’t think we bid on players who haven’t been targets for a long time.
That’s why we didn’t bid. Our so-called ‘interest’ was all made-out bullshit imo.

Yeah doing well. Just a heck load of travel (around 120km a day )which when combined with the Indian traffic makes me cranky.
Probably time for me to upgrade my car but there’s no good cars in the Indian market. Not in my budget.
