This is the the trouble with the likes of Fabrizio who gets paid per hits on a tweet. Ive no doubt he has good contacts but a lot of his tweets are the typical “how to give you an update without giving you an update” tweet.
I miss the days of coming home, flicking on Ceefax, typing in 302 for football and seeing the likes of IAN RUSH SEALS RETURN TO LIVERPOOL flashing at the top.
It was better when no one knew what was going on. These deals take ages to sort especially nowadays.
Due to all the tweets it feels like this deal has dragged on but it hasnt really - it was only 10 days ago that he confirmed he only wanted LFC and the clubs began talks late last week.
More talks this week and im sure it will be sorted. Bayer arent getting 150m they just need to be seen to be playing hardball for their fans and for other clubs who want to buy one of their players.

I jave been on the Wirtz bus from the beginning, but if Bayer are wanting too much we havevto stick to the valuation we believe, we don’t want to be perceived as soft touches, like Manure, and pay over the odds
I dont have any concerns here. FSG arent going to make a deal for a player that would destabilise the clubs finances or prevent it from doing other work the club has prioritised. A deal of this size was always going to have lots of time needed to iron out the structure / add ons…and in truth its probably not even taking all that long. It just feels that way because of the way the story broke.

If FSG believe that Wirtz is a signing worth paying 130m , he probably is.

But it also shows that we aren’t ready to accept alternate targets. Which was the case for Alisson and VVD.
