You can see in the picture, Emlyn is wearing ‘Gola’ training shoes. That takes me back to my schooldays, I don’t think you can buy Gola football boots anymore.

They’re available but molded, looking at the price and standard though, no you cant buy them, it would be folly! Patrick were the main brand at my school, Lima I think, but they only cater for rugby now. I had a pair in the mid 90s when they tried to re-enter the market, fell apart in half a season.

I remember Patrick as well. My favourites, back then, were Adidas ‘Santiago’.

Adidas are the all time best boot; world cup, santiago (wonder how Patrick went Lima 
), predators (still have a pair from 06) only trouble is they are a bit of a narrow fit, Puma and Nike tend to be for the heavier treader.
