That was incredible. Skrtel dived in from yards away. Costa got characteritically arsey, but not in a panto “lets play up for the crowd and give them what they want” sort of way and ended up getting booked. In a charity game

I didn’t know we sold Alisson. I at least hope we got a decent fee for him

Ah I thought this was the international thread…. Any reason why it’s here?

I suspect that it has something to do with Takumi Minamino scoring the goal for Japan to being the come back?

Just watched the whole of the Chelsea v Liverpool legends.

Aurelio tucking in from wing back into midfield… imagine him in today’s game with a bit of more health than he had, he’d be one of the best!

And Babel finally producing.

I liked Jonjo when he played for us. Not that skilled but always seemed committed.

Everybody has weird viewpoints and there are plenty weirder. I don’t know the UAE but seems better than Saudi perhaps?

I thought this was interesting. The club have given First Division winners medals to former players who won the league with us in the 1960s to 1980s but who didn’t make the 14 appearances that would have qualified them for a medal at the time.

• David Fairclough – 1982-83 (eight appearances)
• David Hodgson – 1983-84 (five appearances)
• Alan Kennedy – 1985-86 (eight appearances)
• Chris Lawler – 1963-64 (six appearances)
• Jan Molby – 1987-88 (seven appearances)
• Terry McDermott – 1975-76 (nine appearances)
• Ronny Rosenthal – 1989-90 (eight appearances)
• Paul Walsh – 1987-88 (eight appearances)
• John Wark – 1983-84 and 1985-86 (two medals for nine appearances)
• Steve Heighway – 1979-80 (nine appearances)
• Colin Irwin – 1979-80 (eight appearances)
• Sammy Lee – 1979-80 (seven appearances)
• Alec Lindsay – 1975-76 (six appearances)
• Joey Jones (postumous) 1975-76 (13 appearances)
