Yes, of course. Thanks

I do agree with this, remember we made a punt on an 8m left back around that time as well.

It is ironic that now that he’s retired, I see Jurgen more on my screen in Canada than when he was coaching our team. I see him almost daily in ads! I guess all those ManU fans in Canada don’t hate him that much lol.

That’s a great picture, heart-warming to see so many famous names at the start of the journey. This was to be their first season back in the top flight, where they finished a very creditable eighth, which remains their lowest league position in the subsequent 60+ years. Of course, the next year they would win the league title under Bill Shankly for the first time.

That was my first ever Liverpool top. It was Red and Pink where the colour had run. I’ve got about 70 now.

I thought that since TAA bulked up significantly 2 or 3 years back, he started to get muscle injuries more often, and sidelined him with longer and longer periods.

His form in spring of 2023 (to the end of the season) was some of the best stuff he ever played. Trent and and a returning Jones were some of our best performers in that period.

That’s when we tried to use him in the hybrid role. He was topping a lot of charts then. But obviously it didn’t last very long.

That summer I remember reading Trent took that pre-season incredibly seriously, in order to build a new physical frame/foundation for the following season.

I’ve said that I feel his physical peak might be gone for the way he used to play years ago. That’s not always perfectly aligned with other aspects of a footballer. So he’s probably best now away from the hybrid or in midfield stuff and also cannot expect to go up and down as he did in the past. Still, doesn’t mean he’s a bad full back, he’s one of the best.

Sometimes in some cases you only realize it when you look back at some careers and you see that someone was physically very different from a certain point. Even if there were no big injuries. Riise had it. I prefered his body in his earlier years at Liverpool rather than his last, when he seemed too bulked up to me.

I wonder if that could be the consequence of playing so often from such young age. Klopp’s style was unforgiving, you really had to be a man of steel to sustain that tempo.

That line has to be from a Carry On film.

I’m wondering what Takumi Minamino, or his agent, has over the BBC as the report on him getting the only goal of the match in Monaco’s defeat of PSG has been near the top of the page for BBC Football for ten days now. Everything around it is from a few hours ago, but the report of Monaco’s win is from November 29th.

Why anyone takes anything the BBC do or say seriously is beyond me lad.
