I think for Morientes it was a bunch of issues tangled together. He had few injuries. But mostly it was his age, too over the hills to cope with the rigors of Premier League. Then the lack of playing time messed up any opportunities to get synchronized with Premier League.

To be fair I couldnā€™t really remember him, I remember him scoring his first goal but at the time I was focused on two things, this bloke I had met and the CL, he wasnā€™t involved in eithier.

Well. Heā€™s made me look a bit of a tit after my last comment on this thread. Canā€™t imagine the level of football in the second tier, though. Iā€™ll try to get to a few games next season and report back.
