My dadās generation can remember when the players used to catch the bus on matchday with the fans.
The contrast with the spoilt brats of today couldnāt be more stark.

Yeah mine too. But my grandad used to recall when the fans gave the players piggy backs to the ground and woebetide anyone who dropped one. Life was hard in those days and especially ooop north
