Can you expand on that comment? What part did he play?
Itās literally 6 posts up.
Itās up to every individual whether they respect him or not, I think he is a bit of a bullshitter who donāt like taking the blame when things are going poorly.
So Rodgers was fighting to keep our star player and for that he is pilloried? And is this stuff confirmed or just hearsay?
I didnāt like his style at all, but had he won the Premiership then fans might look back with less vitriol. Dissing previous managers is for the likes of Everton, not Liverpool.
Of course hed have more goodwill if he had won the league. So would Roy Hodgson. He didnt win the league though.
Also, if he had won the league Suarez still would have left - everyone knew he was only staying one season to go to a spanish giant. The problems that arose still would have arisen. Brendan would just have had more goodwill to last longer even though he clearly did not have the answers. It would have been akin to the Ole situation where a manager has a task beyond their capabilities and wont get put out of their misery because of the fanbase - it would have turned toxic on forums arguing about #brendanin/#brendanout. Long term him missing out on the league saved us a lot pain and got us Klopp.
Those 5/6 months were great. Everything else under brendan was at best inconsistent, at worst fucking horrific. Id say the general view of him is fairly accurate among most supporters. He had his moments but weāre far better shot of him.
This all started with an innocuous comment by myself about how Rodgers was not responsible for something that someone else had mentioned in a post. The guy I replied to agreed and I was happy to move on. Then redfanman jumped in and it all went fucking mental. Loads of people getting involved over nothing. Just shows how easily things can get out of hand.
The very opposite. Rodgers said he could leave.
I told him that, he ignored it and then went in two footed on @redfanman
One minute someone is saying that Rodgers refused his request to leave, the next someone is telling me he said he could leave. FFS
Iām out of here. You guys are just nuts. Just carry on in your own little echo chamber. Iāll just carry on supporting the team like Iāve done for 50 years plus.

Nobody told you that Rodgers refused his request that I saw. Are you alright?
You win mate, whatever it is youāre trying to achieve. Happy now?
Did they even count assists in the Keegan era? let alone St John and Callaghanā¦
I donāt recall anyone even referencing them until recent yearsā¦
What part of āwe were within two points of Man Cityā do you not understand? Bringing Roy into the discussion makes no sense. Itās completely irrelevant.

Fuck all to do with winning. Make your point by all means but be prepared to back it up and have counterarguments. Canāt be saying people are contradicting themselves in posts to you to be needlessly insulting when none actually did, though.
I donāt disagree with much of what you say, but the fact still remains that Brendan got us to within an inch of the title. In my book that is some achievement. The fact that things didnāt work out for him and for us after this is a shame, but does it merit such vitriol from so called fans?
The only insults I saw were from Dutch telling me to fuck off. I keep it civil, unlike others.

So called fans? Have a word mate. Rodgers isnāt worth it. Some of us have been supporting for decades and donāt like the snide little shit. Fuck all to do with being a fan of the Club. He doesnāt deserve the association and his beliefs and manner link in no way whatsoever to what I believe the ethos of Liverpool Football Club to be.
Iāve been supporting for over 50 years, so donāt get on your high horse there. Iāve said several times that I didnāt particularly care for Rodgers, and his management style. All I am saying is that he got us to within an inch of the premiership, and for that he should be respected. Surely that is the Liverpool ethos?
