It’s no Ben & Jerry’s.
My thoughts exactly. The pre Juventus era was peak Ian Rush. He’d fit into our present day team easily with his work ethic.
People always go on about the Liverpool back pass tactic (every team did it btw - and not winning the league after the rule change is spurious correlation, but i’m preaching to the choir here).
But imagine the early 80s Ian Rush with no back pass rule - he’d easily nick extra goals to add to the 346.
Can’t believe he is only 32…career ends in a few wasted years when he should still have been playing at a high level. Feel a bit sorry for him.
We could bring him back here to replace Div. He would be the best finisher at the club, but still never get a game.
It is sad. He was brilliant for a while until the injuries.
On 3 June 1892 Liverpool FC was officially registered under their name and the Board of Trade issued this certificate to John Houlding.
Happy 130th birthday Liverpool…
Like being married to Miss World who has a headache EVERY FUCKING NIGHT. All the talent in the world and possibly more but the mental fortitude and endurance of the proverbial snowflake.
9 days out in Feb 2020 because of a toe injury. I bowled having earlier had my big toe nail smashed off by their opening bowler.
I fucking hate the slights about his mental strength. Lots of people seemingly don’t understand the strength it takes for a professional athlete so suffer a significant injury and do the work necessary to come back. They dont understand the dark place you can be taken to as an athlete who makes a living from their body having to experience it failing you over and over again. The easy thing to do at that point is to take the money and walk away. It takes balls to deal with that and try to overcome it.
Oh, but Stevie said he was mentally weak. Yeah, but stevie said a lot of really dumb shit. So unless you’re also going to blame the Rafa “facts rant” on us not winning the league in 08-09, or agree that it would have been a good idea to get rid of Rafa to bring in Curbs, then you cant just default to “stevie said it” as a supporting argument.
Do a lot of kicking of the ball in cricket, do you?
Also ignores the fact that Jürgen said Sturridge had essentially broken from so many injuries that he needed to relearn what pain was, meaning that he needed to be able to trust his body again. Nothing to do with the other bullshit that normally gets spewed about him.
Ever played? A yorker is aimed at your toes.
Oh, Lord. I’ve played croquet with a broken rib. I have even played cards with a hangover.
Sturridge was completely betrayed by his own body, and the foundation of that was probably overdevelopment in his teenage years. The number of muscle tears he suffered from age 20 to now is ridiculous.
I’m happy to know that both Gerrard and Klopp agree with me.
He does not. That’s literally what I was saying.
You think you’re a hard bastard? I’ve watched a full premier league match with carpal tunnel including operating the apple remote (60g) and lifting an espresso cup (another 60g). Doubt you’ll ever hear Jurgen or Stevie criticising my mental toughness (just don’t ask my wife).
I subbed myself off because one of contact lenses fell out.
Well who did not love that one
Well I don’t know them and the color of his skin is non important to me and the people call my friends.
