Should be, though. I recall BigJon. I mean, he never posted Liverpool stuff, if I remember correctly, so whatever. Or even football stuff. But didnāt he run afoul purely for his political beliefs? A victim of the Racism thread?

It was to do with the racism thread, put I donāt think it was so much his political view but more his unwillingness to accept other people having different views and understandings of what consitituted as racism
But I do hold my hands up and admit, I had stopped reading his posts long before he got banned/stepped away

He made very useful contributions to The Music Thread, can be said. Thatās about all I remember of him.
Donāt discuss religion, sex or politics in public company, my grandmother always counseled me. Probably, I should heed it better.

Which is pretty good in terms of being a low number.
The mods/admins on TAN are pretty much same as the ones on TIA at the end except for Matt, Max and Ubermick.
However the mod team did rotate. This created a challenge as we had a number of posters we had known 10+ years. A few had been brilliant posters when they had first joined but where very different posters by the end. We gave them more slack thinking that if we could turn them around they could be good again. More slack as they had been friends and contributed so much to the site (as former mods). But this was a mistake. As they pushed rules right to limits/boundaries that gave license for others to do the same. This lead to accusations of hypocrisy when we tried to crack down.
I think I ended up banning 3 or 4 former mods. One for editing the posts of others to āwinā debates. One who used a photos from another posters LinkedIn profile photos and was abusive in DMs, another who abused his mod power by banning anyone who disagreed with him and another who had multiple accounts to troll.
Two of these I considered friends, so was really hard for me to do. Some of them should in truth have been banned far earlier. One was going through mental breakdown.
We also closed down a secret sub forum that was invite only and influenced the running of the site.
In short we learnt a lot of lessons from TIA. When we started TAN we were able to wipe the slate clean.
We implemented self imposed rules on ourselves. Eg If debate got heated it was for another mod to intervene. We donāt have any hidden groups, all posters are treated equally as possible. That there is an emphasis on the community and self moderation (software here is great for that)
We are not perfect by any means (well except me 
) but I think the mods are all pretty level headed and do have the forums best interests at heart.

Yes many stepped down after a stint. A couple I banned when they were still mods ā¦
Which overstepped my powers at the time, but was needed

I was banned by @ISMF after being accused of having multiple accounts. Which I genuinely didnāt have. Genuinely.
But anyone can make a mistake.
