There is no cut though…
They have a small and ever shrinking field, both in numbers and talent, and play a version of golf meaningfully removed from what the rankings are based on. They are lucky for the top 10 to get the points.
,let’s get it all back together. Without teams or the frat boy nonsense.
Looking at getting back in to golf looked at my local clubs membership fees and over 39’s have to pay $200 more than any other category, how can that be right, surely ageism?
Demand pricing - charging a customer what you think they are willing and able to pay. Blame uber
Well done Rory ![]()
Finally! Put your fans through the bloody wringer there Rory!
Wanted Rose to do it but once he was out of it I was on the Rory ship
Weirdly I don’t even feel like he played well. He was scrapping his way around the course all 4 days but he got there in the end!
Especially today. Every hole seems a struggle. Especially compared to the first two rounds. Third was a shocker!
That shank by Rose to not even get in the green was shocking!
He played some incredible shots when scrambling but yeah some poor ones also. Such resilience though.
He’s a great ambassador for this place. Grew up 10mins away from where I am now
For sure! He didn’t let a bad shot affect his next shot.
Huge fan of Rory, such a good golfer. His driving put him under pressure all week. The first two days he scrambled like Seve and built a huge lead. Round three was his bad one, on moving day. Final round and it was iffy, but I get the feel that Rory just needs to feel the opponents before kicking into gear and winning. That’s what it looked like today.
Only the fourth in history to win back to back Masters. Well done that man. A lovely afternoon/evening viewing in these parts.
PS - if not Rory, I would have loved to see Rose do it. He was close, again, but not to be.
I don’t know a whole lot about golf, only really started watching in the last 5 years or so. As a Grand Slam winner and now double Masters champions - where does Rory sit among the all-time greats?
He is up there with the big boys in history now.
6 majors is a big deal and no current player has more. The “best since Tiger” take your choice between him and Scheffler.
The BBC heard your question and wrote an article for you ![]()
Surely the greatest European, and not finished yet. The ex-players were saying on Sky last night that the competition is far tougher now
Yeah there are 12 players ahead of him in career grand slam wins but you look at the players ahead of him and only Woods is of the modern era (arguably Watson depending what you define as modern), 1/3 of them played before the first world war, and only 5 of them are even still alive
To win a major is very difficult to be fair so to win 6 with a fair few players in a field who could and have won majors shows how good he is.
