I don’t think Digne will arrive on free.
They are also heavily linked with Bissouma. If they pull off these two signings, I’ll applaud them, they are very good players and ones whose level I thought was at some top six club.
I mean Matty Cash on the other side.
I know, I’m just being a twat
Tuanzebe has cut short his loan at Villa to move to Napoli with his brother citing Gerrard’s liverpool connections as the reason the Utd player was not getting any games.
C’mon Stevie…
One Goldbridge meltdown, please.
I don’t usually watch the scum play, but this game could be a laugh if Stevie wins it! I fucking hope he does
No Maguire for Man Utd the night,
this might be a tough game for Villa now
If I was Stevie, I’d be looking at a right winger and a ball-playing centre back to replace Mings. I’m not convinced that Ings and Watkins can play in the same XI, the rest of the team looks better suited to play 4-3-3.
Not clear Watkins touched it - give the goal for fuck sake
Which former teammate of former Liverpool academy player could Stevie target next? Which position does he need to strengthen?
Maybe Shelvey or Manquillo?
I half expected he might go for Kent.
Canos from Brentford perhaps?
Interesting moves, but in some ways adds to the pressure for Stevie to deliver now. It’s a well reported yet somehow still underappreciated reality that there was already a lot of investment in the side that Stevie inherited. He’s now added to that 2 CL caliber players in a winter window, one of whom is a direct replacement for the player whose loss they were able to use to explain away some of their struggles this season. Very little room to hide now.
For me Digne an impressive signing for Villa. I don’t at all like him as a person but he is a high level player and will make Villa immediately better. Clearly he no longer wanted to be at Everton and his play reflected that.
Truth be told I am thrilled he did not go to Chelsea.
I think it’s also an indication of his motivation/ambition. He is going to club where he can’t ride the gravy-train.
Or going to a club where he will be first choice, rather than having to fight for his spot?
But possibly for lower wages.
Maybe he wants to play for a club with a real history, rather than some billionaire’s plaything?
Not that Villa isn’t owned by billionaires…haha
Maybe I should have said, rather than a club that was nowhere until it became a billionaire’s plaything…
He is just a PRICK…!
To be honest I don’t think ge will ever “hide”. He has a vision for Villa and he will pursue that without thinking about criticism or media nonsense.
I think he knows what he is doing, and will be their level successful
