Heās improved them not to the level some would suggest he has but they are far better than they were but with the signings youād expect some improvement.

I havenāt watched Villa games in quite a while - what happened to them? Stevie initially brought defensive stability that looked more than just a by-product of the new manager bounce but the results have gone against them lately. That defensive āperformanceā against Tottenhamā¦ Well, there were strong shades of Lovren at Tottenham in 2017 in Konsaās game today. Easily beaten by Kane in the air for two goals, dragged out of position and then caught sleeping for their fourth. Yes, Stevie was tactically very naive against old dog Conte, his forwards missed a few great chances but their defenders were all over the place.
I didnt think Aston villa played badly against tottenham. They had their chances and missed themā¦ Tottenham took theirsā¦

Yeah that first half was utterly crazy, I do think we will face a more open Villa side than we did earlier in the season.

I do like Stevieās honesty and straight forwardness but Iām still not sure heās got āitā to be liverpool manager. Obviously what really matters is whether he manages to demonstrate the results to put himself in the running for the job at a future date.

Michael Beale has left Villa to takeover at QPR.
Will be very interesting to see what happens around Stevie now, who is his new main assistant.
