I guess I could have the Slash pick ups taken out of the HB and put in the Les Paul or is that sacrilege?
Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Slash vs Gibson Burstbucker - YouTube
2 Videos of the 2. Dont sound that much difference to me - especially on Bridge pick up (drive)
Wouldn’t you just buy a Slash LP? Not sure it’s worth the effort if you’ve already upgraded what you have.
There’s something in the wood / construction of them that makes them all sound a bit different for some reason.
Here’s the vid I was referring to above. Listen to the difference in them. Spooky!
Epiphone are a lot better these days than they used to be but…they arent Gibsons.
Im so shallow I just want Gibson on the headstock haha
I know. I’m the same but trying hard to get over that way of thinking. I’d like a Strat (right of passage thing) but have other financial priorities which is stopping me going out there and buying one.
Meanwhile I have a Squire body with pickups etc. and a neck which I should put together. But I’m not happy with the body, as the body cavity has been mauled by the previous owner, the bridge is shit, pickups look cheap and I’ve stupidly bought a 21 fret neck rather than a 22 fret one. The snob in me is stopping me doing this,
Meanwhile, I remind myself that probably one of the most prominent guitar solos was played on a partscaster (Comfortably Numb).
I need to get over it.
I do love a Harley Benton…

I think if you buy one of these you cannot go wrong and its wise to spend another £60-£80 on a better nut, some fretwork polish and smoothing, new strings and set up.
But even then for around £450 in total you really cannot go wrong.
Hmm
I’ll admit I’ve looked at the Fusion 3 which has had some decent(ish) reviews for the price.
Not these though. Some with a nice finish there.

This guy is playing a Harley Benton SC-550 with shepton humbuckers and a 1983 Gibson Les Paul…what sounds better??
I never knew Eddie the Eagle played guitar.
He was so talented he also played a sold out concert at Dodgers Stadium
So…i pulled the trigger on this. Its my dream guitar and my search of “the one” is over.
Its a 60s (made early 20) Les Paul Bourbon Burst. It has the thinner neck which suits me perfectly.
Took it to rehersals last night and the guitar played through my Marshall DSL was pure magic.
Finally found my guitar Nirvana.
Love how in brighter surroundings it looks Reddish and it darker it looks Brownish
So in just under 4 years its taken me these guitars to find a definite keeper.
ESP Ltd EC-256 - Black
Charvel – White
Jackson – blue swirl
PRS Tremonti – Black
Cort – Blue
Kramer - White
ESP Ltd EC-1000 – sunburst
Epiphone Les Paul – Gold
Fender HSS – Sunburst
Harley Benton – Sunburst - Still have for now.
Ibanez - Green
Ibanez – Purple
Hamer – Red - Still have.
ESP Ltd EC1-1000 – Black
JC Epiphone Les Paul – Red Wino
Finally Les Paul Standard - Bourbon Burst
Now some of these guitars I ordered, tried and sent back. A few I bought cheap and flipped them but if I had loved them I wouldve kept them but its quite a big list!
That’s a huge turnover. Got there in the end though. Amazing what a keeper guitar can do for your tone and playing.
I just bought this great bit of kit. Its a game changer for me. Instead of having to play with amp low this is a great little device. Has about 40 settings as well and can be controlled by phone app as well.
Check out the video which made me buy it on Saturday. These havent been out long and are flying off the shelves according to the guy at PMT. They cost £119.00
what’s hilarious is BOSS has been a budget-friendly low-end manufacturer for decades and they finally produced something worth buying.
BOSS isn’t low-end and have produced decades of equipment used on many of your favourite recordings and all the big stages.

It’s the next logical step to compete with Positive Grid and brings the Katana tech into a small package. Great stuff. Tempting.
Recently bought 2 pedals from this small company based in Berlin, Lichtlaerm Audio. Honestly the best guitar pedals I’ve ever owned, they’re mostly geared/marketed towards heavy heavy stuff, but these things are so tweakable you can actually get a ton of different usable sounds from them. Got it mailed directly from the owner, not sure he even has employees.
