Guitars, Guitars and more toys that go with Guitars

I’ve just looked them up, saw the splash page and then the artist page - can we talk about it for, like, days?! I’ve heard a lot of these guys and I’ve always wondered about their gear, which they almost religiously find and keep - now I know at least some of the custom, handmade stuff they use.

Honestly, there are so many talented people out there who make this stuff only by their hands and their brains, yet no one knows about them because they don’t mass-produce it (but they are revered in the underground circles). I tried guessing which ones you bought but it could be anything - Ritual, though, does look like something you’d find interesting in your genres. So, what did you get (and are you using it on guitar or on bass or both even?)

(German bands are slowly taking over my speakers and headphones, by the way. Your fellow citizens Chapel of Disease released a wonderful new album, Sulphur Aeon aren’t far from you geographically - another stormer of an album. Mantar will probably release another scorcher soon, their last one was immense. I see that Hanno, as well as Sulphur Aeon’s guitar player, are also listed on Lichtlaerm’s page. Seriously, can we talk about it for days?)

That’s what I need to be honest. My current set up just takes too long to set up, cables everywhere and therefore I dont bother.

I was looking at the Spark mini amp thingy, the tiny one as I like the learning features it has and I could use it as a speaker thingy when out camping and stuff. I could pair that with wireless stuff it would work a treat.

Ha, I knew this would be up your alley…
I got the Ritual, which replaced my old RAT, and the Medusa - kind of weird, used to hate the old HM2 this is apparently based on, but you can tweak the sound in a totally different direction that I really like.
It’s got a Blend/Effects Send Return thing, I just use the clean blend, this has so much gain I just have to blend in a little bit when going into a dirty amp setting and it sounds heavenly brutal, but still defined. Use them on guitar at home for recording, got those two and a Moog Mf Delay, which has a lovely boost built-in, going into a Strymon Iridium on a tiny board. Perfect setup for quick and easy recording, when I find the time.
Might also get the Altar eventually.

Know what you mean. My Marshall 40w is so loud and upstairs so every time i use it I have to go upstairs and piss about setting it up.
Now I just plug in and Im away.

Google ‘acoustic guitar’, you guys are going to kick yourselves!

I have 2. Still too loud. Missus has Misophonia combined with the natural hearing ability of a Bat.

I have been threatened with the garage on several occasions.

then there are multiple brands named Boss. Because Boss Audio that they used to sell at places like Radio Shack and Walmart other discount stores are SHIT.

Ah, I see. You don’t play guitar Semmy, do you?

no, I tried and I just don’t have the fine motor skills for it. we bought my son a guitar, he tried and struggles with it as well.

Any spare cash @Walshy07?

I thought you were supposed to like HM-2 only if you’re Swedish. I’ve been listening to a lot of early In Flames and Katatonia over the last few weeks and you can easily hear it there. I’ve been listening to that stuff for ages, almost twenty years actually, and I actually never noticed that they were using it. Like everyone else, I usually associate it with Swedish death metal and don’t see a use for it outside of that particular scene. I swear, these people had only one pedal and they lent it to one another when they wanted to record something…

I’m in awe of this Lichtlaerm dude, to take classic pedals and turn them into little spaceships by adding loads of different options that are actually usable… Hat’s off. I can imagine them in front of some 100W Orange amp with a wall of cabinets in behind. I really should have started learning to play guitar on time…

wow. £200k and they want £20 postage…

Yeah, saw that.

does anyone know if its possible to get a cable to go from the boss go to an amp?
the only output is a small headphone hole.

edit…at 2.07 on the below vid you will see they have a cable to amp but wondered what cable it would be?

found out on here

looks like 3.5mm headphone cord, male to male. 6.35mm adaptor on amp side.

Can you set these wireless thingymebobs up with 1 pair between an amp and pedalboard and another set between guitar and pedalboard?

Dang, not really in the market for a new guitar but something with this has got me twitching a bit, especially for that price

“Do it!”
