Harvey ELLIOTT: 2021/22

Fuck off with this, honestly. It’s one thing to be a maladjusted teenager on social media, but another thing entirely to be an abusive psychopath who routinely torments an innocent woman.

Give your fucking head a wobble please.

Of course. All the more reason (wrt to social media) for them to receive training and to be dissuaded (via fining if necessary) from the sort of shit posting that Harvey is doing.

Sure in the scheme of whats going on in the world it’s not a big deal but he is a professional footballer and needs to behave professionally here.

You’d say the same about Flanno when he beat up his girlfriend?

This is what I meant by a mountain out of a molehill. I don’t particularly care about what players do on social media which is perhaps why I’m not aware of whatever else he might have posted.

Yes, how does it appear in any way related?

Yes of course I would. There’s a massive difference between being a bellend on social media and beating up your wife/girlfriend. Come on, please…

Elliot posts nonsense and is then mentioned in the same breath as Greenwood?
Fucking nonsense

I don’t know, I don’t follow Greenwood on social media. There was something about his social media behaviour before the incident that made it predictable or something? By the way, of course, some kids/men seem more normal than others. But I don’t read too much into it nor make a drastic difference. Can happen everywhere. That’s all.

This is a strange hill to die on @Zoran. I like you man, but this is just bizarre. I get that you’re saying anyone could be a domestic abuser, but the comp here between Elliott and Greenwood is way off the mark.

So basically, you have nothing but vague memories and feelings to extrapolate from Elliott’s post to him being a potential abuser?

Agree with @PeachesEnRegalia about this being a strange hill to die on. Just accept that your initial assessment was wrong.

He only needs to do 1 thing, and that’s not to react to the bait.

That’s the only thing I’m saying, not that Elliott is an abuser or will be an abuser in the future. Yeah, I don’t think he will. Stuff like that is rare. I bet there are also stuff that never come out. But that Greenwood/Flanagan/Elliott/xy can all seem normal and nice kids, but do something stupid.

Really @Zoran I think you need to reword this.
There is a massive difference between doing something “stupid” like posting on social media and what Greenwood is alleged to have done.
One is over zealous youth posting silly stuff and the other is a criminal offence.

I really hope and think your wording on this is the issue, because I really doubt the two scenarios are in the same ball park.

Yeah, of course I’m not comparing what Greenwood did and what Elliott liked on an Instagram post. Only saying that IF it was Elliott instead of Greenwood, or whoever of these young kids, would I be shocked? I would over the event, but who did it? I don’t think so. Maybe I don’t follow them enough and luckily I don’t, but I just don’t see massive differences from the outside.

I think you’re all in the wrong here if I’m honest.

No one should be stating comparisons with Greenwood but pretending like all the stuff Harvey has got up to in the past is just teenage immaturity makes me feel more than a bit uncomfortable.

We’ve been turning a bit of a blind eye to it, but it’s there. He needs to change his behaviour and the sooner the better.

While Zoran has perhaps gone a bit far, I do understand his point about Social Media. The lad seems very easily triggered by rival fans and he just needs to be able to leave it. He is a professional football player, and he’s going to have people baiting him and goading him. Walking away/logging off is something he needs to start doing.

Let’s not forget Harvey has been bollocked before for posting insulting videos of Kane. Whilst Kane is a cock it shows Harvey has form for idiocy, isn’t all that savy with his social presence and the responsibilities that brings, especially as a Liverpool footballer.

What did Elliot do that was beyond immaturity?

Abusing his girlfriend for following his teammates on instagram, trying to sell his matchday shirt by pretending it was for charity via his girlfriend (which she also got abuse for), thinking it was funny/appropriate to share racist messages from his mum.

Again, I separate the need to maybe have a little talk with him about what he does on social media. I don’t think this like detail is a big deal. Another topic is that, something much more serious, can unfortunately happen anywhere and from anyone. We know too little about these men. Especially when they’re young.
