When you look at the competition Carvalho had at Leipzig, no wonder he didn’t play much. Players of different calibre and level of talent above him. It’s not much different these days at Brentford… player quality usually prevails.
Doesn’t make much sense to compare cases, Elliott is a different player and Leverkusen are a different team.
In fact, I think it’s good that more English players go abroad.
I suppose that is true yes, then it’s about how Leverkusen would want to write the deals off on their balance sheet…do they want it to show as Harvey arriving essentially on a free as part of a package against an outgoing player or seperately in a 40m or whatever it may be…probably the former.
Think he will move to Tottenham or Bournemouth for 35-40 million pounds. But i wish he stays as he will become a very very good player. He has the pass, Vision, shot and a decent pace. My only worry is, i dont know whether Slot rates him highly to bring him on as say a first sub ahead of Jones because he rarely subs midfielders and even if he does Jones is his first choice. Elliott can start for most of the PL teams.
I’d say there’s a chance he could be gone this summer, hopefully though we put together a deal similar to the one we’ve done with Leverkusen for Quansah. Much like Kelleher, both players have the ability to play consistently in our first 11 but at this point they need more game time which they won’t get with us.
It’s a tricky one. He’s obviously a baller and I’m sure the staff would love to keep him around. But for his own career I think we’ll let him go. He hardly got a kick last year and that’s not going to get any better with Wirtz arrival. It’s a shame but also a sign of how good our squad is now
