He’s barely played right wing for us since breaking through into the first team. And Mo is far less effective at number 9 than off the right.
I cannot get people’s casual attitudes to just moving players out of the positions they perform best because they can play there rather than focussing on how we get the best out of them.

I think Slot sees Elliott mainly as a midfielder. Arguably he has five or six (Grav, Macca, Szobo, Wirtz, Jones and Endo)midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order and probably won’t get much game time this season either.
A move with a buy back clause might be the best solution for all parties. Elliott gets the chance to prove himself and play regularly, Liverpool get a decent fee and in one/teo years time the club can decide to bring him back or not.

Bajcetic can play in the pivot. Elliot can’t. We don’t have a defined role for him unless there’s a formation change.

Maybe not in the PL, but in the continent it’s quite common that clubs enact the buy back clause.
Yes, chelsea did it with Chalobah i think. I’m sure there have been quite a few cases of it, but its probably more precautionary than an expectation.

Chalobah was only ever a loan. But Real have done this loads of times. Sometimes holding on to a stake in their career for years after they last played for them
