This is moving at a rapid pace now. Looks like deal will be agreed by today as Frankfurt know that since NewCastle has left the conversation they cant expect this bidding war to prolong. Think 75 million to 77 million pounds will do the trick as the release clause if i am not wrong is 86 million.

I’ve seen him play a few times, admittedly only in passing, but I always thought he looked a bit like a “stork in a salad,” as we say. I think that will take some getting used to imo.

How do we think Ekitike compares to Isak when he was at Real Sociedad?
Because ideally we want to be buying that player rather than Isak who’s at the peak of his value already.
A bit like how we need an equivalent Willian Pacho-like signing when PSG picked him up.

I think this news will pressure Isak to make up his mind on whether to push this or not and for Newcastle to come back with an answer fast enough…If newcastle dallies, then they will be stuck with their best striker since Alan Shearer who will no doubt be very unhappy…
I don’t think Frankfurt will accept anything lesser than 80m GBP.

I was so concerned with Isak’s injury record. I am more comfortable with Ekitike and say Matata. Gives us the much needed strength and depth. Both will rock and Ekiteke can also play from the left if need be.

I agree, was about to say that the one plus he has over Isak is his injury record.
He’s probably already packed his bags. He’s shown admirable patience, which you have to acknowledge after all the back and forth. I hope things move quickly now and he flies to Japan with the team. Now I just need us to quickly bag a CB, and I’ll be happy so far.
