Daniel Levy had Everton off, getting £40 million off them for Ali.
It’s not even so much about van de Beek or Alli as individuals… but both of them? I didn’t understand that. Deep down, their best positions simply clash or are too similar for Everton to get the best ouf ot both of them. And in a situation like they were and still are in, perhaps there were some better options on the market. Very unbalanced side. They do have a number of wingers or wide forwards and then they go and get bloody El Ghazi on a simple loan. Just weird moves all round.
Love Warnock
They’ll surely never end up paying £40m for him. He’s going to need to hit 30 games before they pay a penny for him and that won’t happen until next season at the earliest. But they are paying £100k a week which is an eye watering sum for a player with his production in the last few years.
It’s all well and good structuring the fee that way but even if he doesn’t make the appearances required to trigger the first or second payment, you’re still paying him £100k a week. And that contract is for 2.5 years whether he plays or not. No one else is going to be stupid enough to take that on, even if you try and give him away this summer.
If they go down they’ll have to carry that or basically pay him off to go elsewhere.
Why is Warnock talking to Joe Biden?
All I see is rounded collar on a shirt.
I did laugh at how much the US team were biging that up yesterday with me thinking WTF is going to watch that when there is CL QF on?
There are obviously huge questions marks about Dele given what has happened to him. Anyone who was going to buy him needed to do a proper dive into what was going on with him as a person and as a professional. That would be true even if they were getting him for free given the opportunity cost of picking him to try to solve your problems. It’s especially true if you’re spending good money to buy him. A team in a relegation scrap with a new manager just didnt have the time to do that in the Jan window, and that is what it makes it doubly odd that they’d go ahead with it when they already had his alternative coming in for free. It is just an astoundingly bad collection of decisions.
If only 14 year old me knew how much of his life he was going to waste playing this series of games when he went out to buy this version. Was like a gateway drug that resulted in me half arsing both my education and my real world sport.
Still, it probably did more to prepare me for managing a football club than anything Frank Lampard has done.
Such a thing is not possible.
I pulled this off today. Despite looking like a twat I kept my mouth shut and didn’t sound like one.
Otherwise, I quite fancy Burnley for this. I honestly don’t think Everton’s safety is certain by any means. They are clueless and rudderless.
And I thought Arsenal were taking the piss moaning about it. Going be fucked when they play 46 next season.
What’s the story with the FFP breach then?
Points deductions coming?
They’re in talks with the Prem asking to be given leeway/leniency because of lost revenue due to Covid. The fact that al, the other clubs lost revenue due to Covid (but apparently not as much as the Ev?) has lead to an aricle sayingbthat if they’re allowed preferential treatment then other clubs could sue. Similar to Derby being sued by other teams.
They can fuck off.ridiculous that they can even dream about using covid as a reason for their fucking extortionate spending landing them in the hole they are in.
Imagine a point deduction now. I would cream
The difference between them and us, we play QF CL, for the title and the FA cup and this is their big match of the season
I’m watching this no way are they getting another jammy win due to my eyes not being on them.
Think it’s safe to say whoever loses this one goes down
I think they’ll win tonight because Burnley are done imo. I think it’s a straight fight between the bitters and Watford and will ultimately be decided by how many points Watford can gather from their remaining 5 home games all of which are winnable (including the Ev).
If I had to put money on it I think they’ll stay up. They have home games against sides with little to play for - Palace and Leicester are going to finish mid-table, Brentford will probably be safe by the time they play them and even the Chelsea game falls between the 2 CL semi-final matches so if Chelsea are still involved then they wont be too arsed about beating Everton. Man U are just shite.
In my opinion, huge luck for them if there are 3 worse teams than them at the end. That will be a bit of an escape. Because for a while now, they look bad. Objectivelly speaking, I don’t want them to go down. I don’t want to lose the derby + it’s better for the sporting aspect in the city and attracting players from all over the world if they’re in the PL and stable. Numerous factos. Not key ones, not like we can’t do without them, but it’s better for all if the two sides are doing well (each in their own missions, because for a long while now, they’re not competing with us).
