I think you overestimate the relevance of the Merseyside derby for people who are not crazy into football, or local.

And after Everton’s antics and their degeneration into bitterness and bile even the locals seem to want rid of them. That sort of thinking about the derby being good for the city, two teams doing well etc etc has long since lost its relevance imho. Derby games are to be endured, in my recent viewing experiences, and not necessarily because I think we might lose but because it’s only a matter of time before some thug connects with one our players.
Send them down into oblivion and I’d not give them another thought.

Also, the bigger picture is that right now, only 2 teams have a longer run in the top-flight than us, take Everton down and it’ll just be Arsenal to get relegated that we need…

I’m hoping it’s not a foregone conclusion. Burnley’s problems have been scoring goals. With Pickford they might have found a new striker.
Quite honestly, Burnley are organised and have a style of play. Everton have nothing, they are a disorganised rabble.

They are desperate to get Keane out of the side but cannot because every other option is also unavailable or similarly out of form. Now they cannot even rely on a hopelessly out of form Keane for today. Presumably Holgate drops back into defense today and maybe they’ll be forced to play Dele in midfield or that other useless fecker they brought in during January.
They do need a replacement for Gylfi so it makes sense to go for one of them. But not this season when you are involved in a relegation dogfight. Boggles the mind , They don’t have a semblance of a defender and Lamps goes and buys two players that they don’t need at all. (Okay VDB is a loanee , but still )
Brentford took a sizable risk in getting Eriksen , but his contribution has probably saved them from relegation. Everton needed someone like that , someone who can command the midfield , get people moving and be a positive influence on the game. At the moment, they have none
